  3. How do you clear the cache? I'm using firefox btw.. but it was fine couple days ago, and its only on my laptop.
  4. The drop down menus on the top of the home page aren't working, and niether is the chat box?
  5. Quite a big job, there is a guide on here. Easier if you haven't got a/c too.
  6. Hammer and a good sharp chisel might free the bolt off. Is the driver going into the shcs fully? Sometimes crap builds up in the head so will need cleaning out to allow the driver to go in an get the right grip in the head (if that makes sense!).
  7. I'm pretty sure I torques the con rod bolts to the vw factory setting, not sure of the head bolts though. 22ft/lb then 1/4 if a turn (90*) for the big ends.

    United motorsport can sort the loom out, as they did garys r32 into mk3 loom.
  9. Most of thw works used tape measures, spirit levels, and just by eye. If it doesn't look right, it probably isn't! Geometry wise, it won't be far from a mk3 set-up, when i get chance, maybe next year, i'm going to be making fully adjustable front and rear wishbone/trailing arms.
  10. Were you using it as a torque wrench, or as a breaker bar?
  11. Prety sure it's in the right groove, thought there was only 1 groove anyway? Why not try it, you'll soon feel if it's right or not when u tighten it. Plus, grease/oil the o-ring pre assembly.

  15. I wouldn't like to make any sort of decision on this without seeing it in person. Try doing what ive said above, have a search for jigging dimesions on the net, and go from there. Oh, is the windscreen cracked?

  17. Probably looks worse than it is. Has it bent the front subframe? Or the main subframe? Is there any creasing around the bulkhead/strut area of the leg/body? A few more pictures may help to see it all clearer. The only thing that worries me is that the damage may have effected the squareness of the 2 chassis legs against the car body. In an ideal world it would need to be jigged, before any decision is made, but you maybe able to measure certain points, take a level to set points to find out yourself, just make sure you can get the car sitting level first.   18. Yes the braking will improve a little, but if you want better brakes, then maybe a 312mm conversion? There is a guide on here. I found the 280 brakes really poor, along with the abs system, which both nearly left me in various hedges!!! (this was when me car was relatively standard)
