  1. i know that on 1.8t lumps, after unpluging the tps it needs setting up again. other thing is have you plugged in the lambda??
  2. i think you can remove the back part of the seat from the 'bum' part. try this an have a look up it-you might need to seperate the join that holds the fabric together. never done it on vw, done it on rst recaro's
  3. i'd def go genuine, if nothing else but for piece of mind, i know for sure the'll do another 90,000 miles of abuse no sweat!!!
  4. i think it will, not 100% but i don't see why they would have changed the gearbox between early an later vr's. its only engine management thats different, nothing machanical
  5. you might be able to get somethin like it from wessex fluid power, pirtek, hyphose etc- any general hose/hydraulic/fittings place. i said the above as there the ppl we use at work for various bits an pieces, try em :-)
  6. ha ha ha, wait till my misses hears that 1!!!!!
  7. jus had a look, as you open the flap, on the left on the car were the locking pin comes out, there should be a bit of plastic that the tab on the flap rests against when its shut. if its missing it will sit in too much. if you need it give me a shout an i'l post you 1 fella.
  8. i'l have a look at mine sometime today, i'l have 1 spare if you need a new 1
  9. what ever bulbs you have, the wiring upgrade works a treat on mk3's. i did it to mine couple years ago, and noticed a hell of a difference-i could actually see at night!!! i just robbed a pair of headlight relays off a m reg escort, bit of cable, job done. gotta 1 of the best and cheapest things you could upgrade ;-)
  10. defo go 4wd if your going to run a turbo in the future! and if the price is right, why not ah? :-)
  11. it should be on your rear beam, and have 4 brake pipes going into it. not sure how you un-sieze them, maybe a good sqiurt of wd40-or similar, and move the arm in and out to un-seize the little plunger under the arm. its not as complicated as i`ve described, sorry!! let us know how you get on ;-)
  12. well quite a bit! vr6 syncro gearbox, front driveshafts, prop shaft, rear drivesahafts, rear diff, syncro rear subframe and arms, modify rear boot floor/buy mk3 golf syncro rear floor+rear cross-member, syncro fuel tank/or custom ali tank, modify centre tunnel with brackets for prop, i think thats about it!!! i`m in the middle of a similar project but using o2m gearbox and running gear off a mk4 r32-lots more modifying, blood sweat and tears!! can i ask why your thinking of converting to 4wd?
  13. Have you taken a pic of the sill yet???
