  6. Hi, welcome to the forum. Interesting project, its always nice to see some fabrication happening! Where can you get the roof skins from? But yes, why not cut the roof off, just make sure when your fitting your cage that it ties into the a + b pillars.

  8. Why not try Cat Cams? I had a set in my 12v vr turbo lump, bit wilder then the schimmel, but did the job, plenty of top end power! QEP are the company I used.

  11. I'd say that's fine, like you said, 1 tooth out is a massive difference.
  12. I would have thought coolant hoses are the same, brakes maybe once you've measured the disc diameter an thickness, but the internals of the engine might be different. Eg the pistons maybe slightly different, but it might use the same size gudgen pin, same standard size big an main bearings etc. But as said, a side by side comparison would help identify the similarities.

  14. Just because it's obd1, doesn't mean it's not tuneable, theres still plenty of options available.

    Gurgling noise

    Could be the coolant run-on pump, located rear right corner on the engine.
  17. Could it be the bearing on the slave cylinder? It's quite hard to picture without being there/hearing it.
  18. That's for the outer c.v, if you remove the whole shaft.
  19. It's looks like a circlip without the small eyes to get it off. Which shaft is it your doing? If its the longer shaft, you'll need the jack the engine up to allow the shaft to drop down.
  20. You might need to un-bolt the lower ball joint to allow the driveshaft to swing below the gearbox, to give you room to work. Then with 2 flat or pointed tools, prise open the snap ring and remove it completely, remove the boot clip on the driveshaft, then slide the whole c.v/boot off. Its messy so have plenty of rag handy!
