  1. Brillaint coilovers, ran them on one of my old golfs.
  2. That head gasket is dead. Use a mk4 2.8 24v gasket, Rasises compression by 0.5, But is a much better gasket, And there meant to seal and last much longer than the mk3 version.
  3. Wet vac's work brilliant on cloth seats and carpets. You can also get a very good chemical guys bush that fits on to a buffer or mop, and work really well also Top work thou buddy, keep it up!
  4. It's all personal preference I think. I second 17's. What I've run on most of my golfs. But a lot of people do run 16's. More important than wheels size for handling, is camber, toe in toe out, rolling centre, and wheel centre lines.
  5. Check the coilpack hasn't cracked or cooked it's self.
  6. There meant to have a small side tray / cover as standard, Covers the aux belt, power steering pulley, and crank pulley. Help stop the belt slipping in wet wether. All mk3's came with these from factory I believe. But not a full engine tray, only TDI's came with these. It was for better fuel consumption believe it or not. They also had a rear under tray as well, make the underside much more streamline. Added benefits are they keep you engine bay much cleaner, But they do not help or protect from scrapes or damage as there only plastic.
  7. It should move about half inch on standard spring, 1-2 inches seems abit excessive to me. There might be abit more play if running aftermarket lowing springs, But 2inches seem to much, about half inch or less I would say is correct. Maybe the second nut, underneath the top nut isn't tight enough.
  8. No I haven't replace the internal main shaft bearings yet, I'm looking to get some upgraded versions to be able to run a higher amount of boost. But haven't found the ones i'm after yet, still more re-search needed.
  9. There are two types of rocker gasket for the VR6... One for the silver metal rocker cover (originally from OBD1) And another for the black plastic rocker cover (originally from OBD2) There both slightly different. There's both OEM and aftermarket available but both follow those two designs.
  10. Something to bare in mind, is any intercooler and longer pipe work will decrease boost. Why a lot of people keep supercharger piping short. And no intercooler, as you can drop about 3-4psi, sometimes 5psi from pipe work and intercooler setup. So if you only had a 6psi charger, and -5psi boost lost. It not hard to do the maths. You can also get psi and boost loss from many other factors. So it worth keeping in mind.... psi / boost lost to supercharger or turbocharger size and out put.
  11. Oil filter fits in place of original, You remove old filter and casing and fit new schimmel cnc version. Direct swap. The holes on the top are even to fit standard sensors, plus an extra one for turbo or super charger oil feed if I remember right.
  12. You can chop tdi ones to fit. And then use the part you chopped out to fill in the hole because of different shaped sumps. How I made mine
  13. You can check the tension of chains with Vag-com or VCD's. But needs to be a full version, not demo version.
  14. It's meant to have an afterrun as standard. The fans are meant to run up to a max of 10mins after the key has been removed. But only if your engine exceeds a certain temperature when switched off. If you listen carefully you will also hear your 2nd auxiliary water pump running as well. If your having battery issues, check the batter 1st, use an electric multimeter, should be roughly 11.8 - 12v when engine is off. And 14.2-14.4v with the engine running and the alternator moving. If your not getting these figures, it could be a few thing.... Dodgy battery. Damaged ground wires, check gearbo
  15. New special heat resistant inlet gasket New OEM rocker gasket, and some back anodised bolt. More heat shielding and more black anodised bolts. Boost guage piping and fittings. Made some spacer plates for the super charger, They help with belt alignment, as I made a few in different thickness to perfectly align. One is meant to come with the kit, but mine was missing... I was using some thick washers previously, so not ideal. These will be much better Fitted them on the car, and fitted some M8 high tensile studs, (same as exhaught studs.) which made it much easier to get the super
  16. 288mm will change a mk2 to 5 stud. 5x100. Ealier 280mm will be 4x100 same as mk2 as standard.
  17. Only places I know of are in the USA as well. Could get one made buy a manchining company over here. But you would need all the measurements.
  18. Could you send me some closer pics of it please buddy
  19. I like the gold wheels, Why not do the VR6 badges gold aswell, Only cheap to replace with standard silvers ones.
  20. Fair play mate, Loads of effor gone in lately! I'll be honest with you not my cuppa tea on the oil cooler location, but each to there own, and fair play for being different. Took mine for test drive on sat, Boosted VR's are the way forward!! Roughly what PSI are you ruining atm dude?
  21. Using supernatural II it will last about 5-6months. Purple haze or blue velvet or most of the coloured versions about 3-4months. Purple haze pro about 5months. That what I found on my car anyway. There quick detailer is amazing too, red mist. And they all smell sooo good!
  22. Engine look good buddy, What sort of power are you hoping for with new turbo dude?
  23. The only down side well if you see it as down side, or extras coat on 24v is the plastic inlet manifold, they don't like turbo heat! And can in the worst case melt lol. More often they just distort. So metal short running intake, or some type of metal intake is needed in my opinion. But lots of people see this as an upgrade anyway so it not really a down side , just extras cost for initial set up But yeah they do make more power, mainly down to variable valve timing.
  24. Looking sweet dude. What have you decided to get done to the engine buddy?
