  1. It will fit so long as you use the VR flywheel, 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder have different fly wheels. How well it will Take to power is another question on it's own. There only one way to find out for sure. And that's fit it. I think it would work fine, it's just how long it would hold out... I have no idea, mite be a few months, might be a few years. Depend how hard you drive the car, what RMP your changing at etc. Personally I'd get a VR sachs clutch or valeo, as there tried and test and loads of people speak very highly of them.
  2. You might be able to squeeze the cross member between pipe, and leave it connected, one of the pipes loops under crossmember and is tightly fitted. I took mine off and drained fluid. as I was sandblasting the crossmember, so also sand blasted power steering cooling pipe as well. And replaced flexy with braided hose.
  3. Plus release and drain power steering. As one of the pipes loops under the front cross member. And it not easy to get the old plates out that keep the bushes in place. New one can be ordered from VW if you can't get them off with out damage. I managed to get mine off with a blow torch and tapping the top wash / plate off. While holding crossmember in vice.
  4. There is still a difference but not thing major, OBD2 runs a double chain. And OBD1 runs a single chain. But so long as you use correct sensors and throttle body it will work in either.
  5. Got another set of wishbones. 2nd hand VW's one. As I think even after a refurbish there better metal, and better made than aftermarket versions. Sanded them back using a flap wheel on drill to remove most of the paint and rust. Welded and extended the drop link mounts. As the anti roll catches my chassis when roll very low or when parked up. So I can still use and replace standard drop links. (it wasn't finished welded in the photo) Welded up few areas where the seam was incomplete, near where the bushes go. Also removed the upper circular lip, as this used to touch the sub frame. Plus a few
  6. 7.5j all round - RC041's. 185 35 17 tyres - summer wheels with 25mm front, 35mm rear adaptors. 205 40 17 wet weather tyres - winter wheels with 25mm adaptors all round. All arches full rolled inner lips, and re-sealed.
  7. Loads of good info on 02M gear boxes. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5016422-The-02M-4Motion-transmission-upgrade-thread
  8. Plus you can use the KR cam in the the ABF head if wanted.
  9. KR and ABF are different blocks, have oil feeds in different positions. You can use the 9A engine block with a ABF head and will give a low compression engine good for turboing or supercharging.
  10. You can get Vag-com or VCD's (vag com diagnostic system) from ross-tech with a genuine cable and it will just plug in and work. But there not cheap. Google Ross-tech if interested. But there's a cheap option, but requires half decent computer knowledge. I work with computers as my trade and daily job, so it not too hard for me. Plus I can try and help. But you get a cheap OBD2 cable from eBay. Download a version vag-com, or I can send you a version of vag-com. But it will only work in demo mode because you don't have a genuine cable. This is where the computer knowledge is needed. You need
  11. Haha sorry dude lol I have a D.I.Y I wrote awhile back on here http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/40907-diy-air-ride-on-mk3/#entry428480 Plus in working on a more extensive downloadable PDF version. As well as a few other PDF's. Share the love I say oh yeah and they will all be free!
  12. I can make digital airride set up for just over £1000 will quite afew bells and whistles. About £1200 with fully braided lines. about £800 for a slight stripped back system. about £650 for anolog air ride. And about £1700-1900 with sensors for self levelling, courner levelling, leak detection, etc. the full works. Any one with the right knowledge could build there own kits for these prices. I don't sell or offer these kits. I'm just saying it can be done and rough pricing. But I'd be willing to help people out if they do want Info and help with parts Mine cost me £1080 at first, but has
  13. I have 185 35 17 and my rims are mint! But I am super careful when parking, I always tilt my mirrors down so I can see the edge of the kurb. And I pot hole dodge everywhere. Plus I only run the wheels with 185's in the summer. My winter wheels have bigger winter wet weather tyres But I do want to go back to 195's to get slight better grip on my summer wheels.
  14. Haha I think he's funny
  15. I always thought there was a differance in the 6 cylinder and 4 cylinder boxes. As they use different fly wheels. Defiantly with the 02A gear box there is a differance on the housing between 4 and 6 cylinders. There both 02A gear boxes. But are not interchangeable from a 4 cylinder to 6 cylinder. I guess it's the same for 02M as well.
  16. Is this a standard engine bay, or and engine conversion some one has put in?? The 2pin plug on the side of the engine is for auxiliary water pump I think. The one near where the large engine loom connects. The auxiliary water pump is just underneath the plastic house that holds the HT leads nears the coil pack. It has a 2 pin connector on the top. All headlights, fog lights, indicators wiring runs down the driver side chassis leg. So no where near the battery as standard. But if engine conversion could be different.
  17. You can get all replacement bearings, seals, and belts. You can get pulleys made, but they have to be custom CNC'ed I'm looking in to getting a higher PSI pulley made soon hopefully.
  18. If you want any help give me a shout, I've made quite few of them before for the whole of my air ride set up, just made new power steering lines. Soon to be doing all the fuel system. Then on to brake system It's not hard at all you just need a vice to grip the fitting while pushing the braided hose in.
  19. You can make any braided hose with any fitting, you make it your self. Look in to braided hoses and AN fittings . Then you get a converter from then AN fitting to what ever thread you want. A good place to get them from is http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Torques-U-K/Fuel-Pump-Clamps-Cradles-/_i.html?_fsub=1177825012&_sid=81447352&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 You buy the braided hose, AN fittings and converter separately.
  20. if you want to go DIY get in there an scrub to be honest mate, foam degreaser or thinners and a scouring pad 1st. get all the grim and muck off, then give it a good jet wash. this will remove minimal rust aswell. dry block thoroughly inside and out. Depending if you wish to remove all rust, I would use a flap wheel on a drill, get a few different sizes as it make it easier to get all areas. then once it all removed give the whole out side block a sand by hand. with about 320 grit. apply some kind of chemical rust treatment / prevention for bare metal. Paint with high temperature paint. light
  21. Yeah I'd have a beanie aswell, Always useful in weather like this working on car.

Yeah you can even get them in scrappies off other VW or Audi. 1.8T's have them but some are 3 bar some are 4. 1.8 BAM - 4 bar 1.8 AUG, AWW (all the AW engine code) - 3 bar So the better mk4 golfs with BAM engine, Audi TT's, older S3's, S4's. A6's with 2.7t, 2.8, 3.0. Early spec Corrado. Passat 1.8T, Any 3.2, golf, tt, s3. So loads to choose from Can get them new from VW or TPS. I'd recommend a German Bosch one, Same as a genuine VW. Cheaper eBay ones are meant to be shit. I'd rather a 2nd hand genuine VW, than a cheaper eBay version.
  23. Did you rebuild your injectors or get new injectors while re-building engine? I would get them check and see if there firing correctly. If one is down on it flow, and not firing to it full potential it will cause it to cut out under load. As one or. 2 cylinders could be starved of fuel. As VR system can handle 4 bar pressure. Lates spec VRs came with 3 bar, but early spec Corrado with Dizzy came with 4 bar, and only difference in system is fuel regular and fuel filter. They used a threaded type fuel filter instead of a push to connect type. So I'd get the injectors checked, you can take th

Depends what age OBD1 engine is it, some do some don't. If got a dizzy cap (not coilpack) it should have, but not definite as pervious owner could of swapped it. Just check it, it's on the end of the fuel rail. If it may say 3 or 4 bar on it. If it doesn't it will definitely have a part number on it. And the google part numbers and 3 and 4 bars have different part numbers.
