  1. Few shots of the engine, New Bosch EV6 injectors, 391cc @ 4bar. And new spark plugs, Got them fitted straight away, May change the plugs again soon, and see which the engine runs better with. ECU has been sent off to Stealth Racing for a custom map. After speaking with Vince I'm happy I'm sending it to the right place. The guy really knows his stuff. He even changed my mind on running a recirc valve, so I've ordered all the stuff to get that fitted. And will be changing some of the pipe work. ECU should be back by Friday!
  2. Looks much better with all reds dude.
  3. Welcome along buddy, Nice looking motor, Reminds me of my GTi
  4. I was going to get a dub force chip.... But after speaking to stealth racing, It's cheaper for me to send them my ECU, And they will put a custom map on it for cheaper. And personally I think the stealth map will be better.
  5. Vince from stealth racing is a top bloke and really knows his stuff. I would second stealth racing as the company I would choose. But it's up to you guys, as there your cars
  6. You can also send your ECU away, and they can map it for you, and send it back. Usally this is just a base map, and ideally you would want to get it live mapped on a rolling road afterwards. But a base map would enable you to drive the car safely. And give you much better fuel to air ratio, and timing. Almost all VR6 ECU need a socket solder in, so they can have a re-programmable chip fitted. There are a one or two that do have sockets fitted as standard. You would need to check the ECU code to check. Once a socket is fitted the chip can then be re-coded at a later date. If you have new m

  8. 85-90c I guess you mean. 900c the head would melts lol. Aluminium melts at 660c Mines about 80-87c depending on out side temp. When giving it some, raises to about 93-95c after a per longed period. Don't think I have ever seen mine over 97c Even on a boiling hot day. I do have aftermarket electric uprated fans.
  9. I run spal two 10", and a large dry cell battery. Why not look in to low temp fan sensor buddy, If you already haven't. Also waterless coolant, that's meant to works brilliant.
  10. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=221396717181&globalID=EBAY-GB Looks for NGK 6097 they're BRK7E.
  11. BRK7E 11, are the same as BRK7E... just the 11's have bigger gap. So if your going to gap them with feeler guage, your better off the BRK7E as it a smaller gap to start with. If your not gapping them BRK7E with be ok with standard gap. BRK7E 11 will have to bigger gap for forced induction. So they will need gapping down.
  12. I've fitted the poly version, and it's much better. Plus I managed to get it in red same as the the rest of my polybushes. I'm using a the solid lower section under the cross member, and upper poly mount. The fully solid front mount was almost un-drivable. Tiniest bump or raised tarmac from shit repair job, felt like you just drove over a large speed bump at 30-40 lol I think it would be good for track use, as it makes the front end very tight. But not good for road use. They do sell them as track mounts, but I bought it thinking, 'it can't be that bad'. How wrong I was lol. I have vibra-tech
  13. Z-ing control arms I think they call it buddy. Yanks use them on loads of the trucks and pickups when fitting air ride. I think it came from old low riders running hydraulics but I'm not 100% sure on that. Effectively for the same thing to get the wheel higher in arch. Amazing build thou dude. Comming along very nicely. I'd love to do 4 wheel drive one day!
  14. The front solid engine mount is coming out, and getting replaced with a poly version. Heard people say before there no good for road use, and I now agree, after a few months of use. There much to harsh lol
  15. What Ben said is correct, If running an aftermarket map, You can have the MAF deleted from map. Reason people do it is, The type of MAF that came on VR's doesn't like air turbulence or vortexes, so with the turbo spinning it creates an air vortex (where the air spins). This cause the MAF to miss read, as there's to much turbulence and vortical flow. This is also why VR MAF have a mesh / gauze at the front to help try and stream line the air. So adding a turbo or supercharger mess that right up. But that's old technology these days, You can buy an aftermarket pro MAF for VR's to solve th
  16. Sorry mate I can't remember, it was about 2-3 years ago. Lol Bolts are same size as rear engine mount. But length I can't remember.
  17. I like Meguiars NXT as well, Or G-techniq M1 metal polish, For use by hand and up keep. Menzerna polish for using with polishing mops or wheels.
  18. I like maxi suds 2 for my shampoo. Made by chemical guys, Works amazing in a snow foam gun aswell.
  19. I use the rear engine mount bolts holes. But had to use some uni-strut for a spacer, And use some longer extended bolts. This is photo of mine from awhile ago. I've also see people bolt it to the gear box mounting holes. When the gear box is removed.
  20. If set up incorrectly yes I believe they can mess up steering racks. As the castor angle would be out, causing extra stress on the steering rack, making it twist. I fitted a set to my mates mk2 golf, almost 3 years ago, when they first came out . and there still working fine. That's got a VR supercharged in it. I've had mine on there for about 5-6 months now and think they work well. I set mine and ones I've fitted for mates up with a camber and castor gauge. And none have huge camber, mines is -0.5. Give me a buzz buddy one evening for chat, any time after 6.30-7ish.
  21. As I've replace most of the bolts in the engine bay with 12.9 high tensile allen key bolts. I bought a load of metal cover heads to go on them. Did every Allen key bolt in the engine bay, But won't bore you with photos of them all. So here's one area I did. Half complete. Fully complete. Bought a 4bar fuel regulator, Gave it a quick polish before fitting it. Then got it fitted on car. Fitted new fuel filter at same time. Also did an oil change. Used some decent oil flush first, Ran it for about 45-50mins, Dropped old oil, Then fitted cheap new filter, Filled with 10-40 die
  22. Happy days, So your running on a 24v ECU now? With VVT?
  23. Nice mate, I'm a fan of that grey colour, My mates got one in same colour Any plans for it in the future?
  24. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?3794680-FS-vr6-front-motor-mount-bracket/page2&p=78707711 This will show you the differences.
  25. I've never ran KW sorry, I've used, JOM's, TA technik, Weitec, BC, And Raceland. Weitec or BC's were the best out of the one I use by far.
