corrado 2.9 inlet manifold fit a 2.8
c00k replied to tonygti's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
Not without a throttle body conversion plate. OBD1 and OBD2 use different throttle bodies with different bolt positioning. As you will have to keep the OBD2 throttle body, if using OBD2 ECU. -

Obd2 Elm327 bluetooth scan tool
c00k replied to stevoooish's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
I'd recommend the WiFi one over Bluetooth any day. As the speed WiFi sends the data over is much quicker then Bluetooth, and you get much faster readings if using WIFi, So no lag on the digital rev counter and speedo and stuff, and loads of other thing. I've tired both, wifi was much much better in my eyes. -

You can use it with iPhone, but iPhone needs to be jailbroken, and special Bluetooth app downloaded. I had it working on my iPhone about 3-4 years ago. -

These Wheels Are Driving Me Mad !
c00k replied to VR6DEN's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
My mate has 9.5j on front of his mk2. And there narrower than mk3's. They do poke out. But he has stretched tyres. -
If we got measurement for the windows I could get these made relatively cheaply I reckon. I have a mate who has a flat bed cnc router, and could cut poly carb easily.

Looking nice dude, Planning any other wheels for the summer?

I did use kiln dry stuff buddy, got it from BnQ. but it wasn't dry enough. It's only bone dry when it comes out of the kiln. It sweats when it bagged up. And mine was slight moist. So in the oven it went Next time I buy it I'll look for a dryest bag there. 1st time I did it before so just grabbed a bag that was on top of pile and not split open lol.

Front cross member in zinc primer. With and 85-90% zinc rating. Lower rated zinc primers offer less anti corrosive properties. Higher the rating the more protection. But should only be applied to bare metal, and not over rust. And the metal should either be acid dipped, sandblasted, or acid primed first to heavily key the the whole surface. Loads of new bolts, new tie bars, new ball joints, new track rod ends, all OEM getting a coat of zinc primer. The primer contains zinc phosphate so respirator must be worn!

Cheers buddy, much appreciated I run all RC041's even on rear. To get more tuck. I have 185 35 17 on my summer wheel. But the tyres will all be for sale soon, if interested PM me and we could sort something. 2 are almost brand new done under 100miles, 2 have about. 5-6mm done about 500-600miles. Only reason I'm selling them is I want to got back to 195 45 17. As I can already make the 185 35's brake traction while under heavy acceleration in 2nd. So with fitting the charger I want more grip. So I'm going to go for some pirelli 195 45 17's. I need a tiny bit of stretch for my front arches t

So a friend recommended this paint called Selemix. And I'm going to use it over getting stuff powder coated. As I can then do everything my self. There quite a few different types of selemix, so I did abit of research before deciding which to go for. Selemix is used for paint oil rigs, JCBs, tractors, lots of agricultural vehicles, cranes, containers, etc. So I set about building a spray booth in my garage, only a smallish one for doing parts. It not for a whole car. It's big enough to fit a bumper. Even though myself and a friend are building a full size spray booth in his garage, for paint

Lookin sweet dude, Any other plan lined up?

Very nice car, love the interior.

Very true words spoken, it's not just the upper 12v manifold either, the lower manifold has compensation as well. It's not just the shape where it meets the cylinder head either. The internal bores of the lower manifold are different. This is the reason why you shouldn't just gasket match the lower manifold. As you remove the compensation for the cylinders on the other side of engine.(If running forced induction with a short runner intake things are different) But for an NA engine never gasket match a 12V!

Mk3 v6-slo motion higher line lol
c00k replied to Mk3highline's topic in Members Rides and Event Photos
Yeah it's all controlled electronically by the throttle body and sensors, there's 2 ramps inside the OBD2 TB to help with idling aswell. Also why you want to keep OBD2 TB nice and clean and not clogged up with oil and crap. The two line on the top of the TB are water cooling line, not vacuum line like OBD1. I have removed them on my car as there not really needed. No secondary air injection either. Only vacuum need on OBD2 is for the brake servo. -

I don't think it would work well with OBD1 as the throttle body are totally different and have a different bolt patten, so you would need to modified the 24v manifold to fit OBD1 TB, (if OBD2 is a straight fit) Also OBD1 use ISV, OBD2 12v and 24v don't use ISV. 12v OBD2 is much much closer to the early 24v, than OBD1. my 2 cents anyway. Done a good job on engine, got me thinking about a side project for another car I have I already have a spare OBD2 12v for it already, but it not fitted yet, so might change block and head to 24v -
Think I'm going to be building my own methanol injection soon, and using the devilsown pump Usrallyteam website sell loads of brilliant parts

Check the fuse and relays... and did you disconnect the battery before ripping it all apart?

Back to the 1st post, G60 flywheel will not fit a 6 cylinder, these kits are meant for 4 cylinders. As 6 cylinder and 4 cylinders use a different fly wheel, with different bolt patten. So best is to get original lighten like mention previously.

Top bloke, very good at what he does! lives about 20mins away from me Also does gearboxes, so will change final drives, swap gears from other boxes etc.
