  1. This car looks sweet if it the one I think it is! G60 on end of number plate.
  2. Nice man, mk2 looks like it's going to be sweet. Congrats on baby as well buddy
  3. All about power to weight ratio, And gear ratios when it come to straight line speed in my eyes. I'd look in to swapping the final drive ratio, and maybe 3rd and 5th gear to. Light weight fly wheel. If not being used for long drives or daily use drop to under 6kg flywheel. Strength clutch fork, to stop it from bending at high RMP changes. Loads you can do to get the time down buddy! Keep up the good build. Like to see where this goes
  4. No it's just the plug that are different on the fans I think not 100% sure on that though. So if you chopped the plug off for the fans when buying them. you should be able to re-wire that plug to work with OBD2. Cars looking sweet with new wheels and some lows
  5. New oem tie bars, new oem track rod end finished in polyurethane top coat. Re-conditioned tie bar gators. the bronze colour is copper grease. Tapping the wishbones bushed in. best way I found, but ended up using a larger hammer near end. I went for R32 rear solid bushes. not poly, because they have no outer lip like polybushes, this outer lip may of limited me when air out. so I went for R32 oem instead. I went for Polybush front mounts, and got them in red haha New oem ball joints, finished in polyurethane. Also the wishbones have been customized for maximum lows with standard subframe.
  6. 3 speeds is for cars with air con OBD2. 2 speed is for non air con OBD2. 3 speed fans also have and extra sensors on thermostat.
  7. Rad are the same. Think there a difference in the fan between OBD1 and OBD2. It only the motor and I think they are interchangeable, but there is a difference in fan motors I believe. AUX (secondary) water pump are same for both. Main water pump same. Power steering pump same. ABS is different between models but can be interchanged with minimal work. Main differences between OBD1 and OBD2 engines are: Timing chains. Throttle bodies and vacuum lines. Upper inlet manifold. MAF's. ECU's.
  8. Get a mk4 2.8 24v gasket. Split gasket in half, totally cover it in copper grease, (Like you would paint it, you can buy spray version of copper grease) Both sides, of both parts once split apart. Put one part on top of plate, put one part below plate.
  9. Can be converted to fit 288mm Some people just grind a tiny bit out the carrier either side. Could even be filed out. But you can get different carries to make it fit without grinding. But I can't remember what there from.
  10. I'm also looking into ceramic bearing upgrades aswell But there not cheap looks to be around £170-180 per bearing and 3 are needed! But I will let you guys know more when I find out more
  11. I will look in to it for you buddy
  12. I now have a custom small pulley for my charger.
  13. Plus vag-com or a digsmostic machine in and see if you get any error codes. Then check error codes on internet.
  14. Girling 60 from Audi S2! (Also found on few other older Audi's) There Twin pots. With fit standard 280 or 288mm disks.
  15. You could get VR power steering pipes, Or it's just 16mm I.D nitrile pipe for the one pipe. And a banjo fitting and nitrile pipe to fit the banjo fitting for the other pipe. As the power steering pump has only 2 pipes that come off it. (Nitrile pipe is oil, grease, fuel resistant) You might get error codes from ABS but it won't cause the engine any running problems. Or anything else problems. It's it own module inside the programming in the ECU. It doesn't link or communicate with anything else. So it would work fine. You can get the ABS module deleted from the ECU if wanted. Then no error
  16. ABS not a problem just don't wire it up and tuck the wires away, for mot it will be fine so long as it can pass the brake test. If it passed last year on brakes should be fine this year so long as the brakes have degraded over the last year. How well it stops a VR is another story, as there most probs only 256mm. I have 288mm and want to upgrade to 323mm for better braking, but that's all down to personal preference. The power steering rack and parts mounted to the subframe will be fine. The power steering pump should come on the VR engine and you will need to use the VR one as it's connecte
  17. I think red and blue are now obsolete, And they only sell black at main dealers and TPS. But I'm not 100% sure.
  18. Just for any who want to know as standard on all mk3's. The front suspension type is a mac pherson style strut. And the rear suspension is a chapman style strut.
  19. Adjustable mounts on the bottom like BC coilovers just cheaper. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=351126373168
  20. Plus you can get adjustable bottoms / mounts like on the BC range coilovers. The new TA technics are like it. Will find a pic later.
  21. If you want decent ride quailty all you need to do is swap the springs for the correct rated ones for your car. You can also get different length as well for different ride heights. So you need to corrected rated spring for that ride height. e.g. As standard golf mk3 1.4L come with a totally different rated springs, to a VR6 with a much heavier front end, and much high rated springs. Yet when you buy aftermarket cheaper suspension most come with the same rated spring, wether your fitting it to a 1.4L or a VR6. So the incorrect rated spring is offten used. Sometimes the incorrect length is a

  23. Front crossmember all finished in polyurethane coat. Stupidly I didn't get a photo zoomed out of all of it. Pushed the polybushes in what a pain in the ass they are to do! used 2 big G-claps and various pieces of wood. and micro fiber cloths to stop marks on the paint. Got it all fitted on to the car. not the best pic in world, put a few braided lines on my power steering. More new old stock. Audi 80 Vdo dials i'm going to link up, unsure where I'm mounting them atm. I've also ordered a matching Vdo boost gauge I had to order from Germany. I'm thinking of mounting two maybe where the sp
