  1. A mate asked if my car would do 90, i hoped so, got about 102 odd, just wondering what other vr's out there are doing?
  2. try confused.com. saves a lot of flaffing about.
  3. i suggest you fill up a bit sooner mate, you dont really want crap from the bottom of your tank going into your engine.
  4. 4 mins?? are you sure mate, at £60:00 a pop, ill save up for the e.i.p methnks..
  5. so they do have a standard one, okay, my temp is normally at 94, goes upto 100 or so your caining it a bit. but never above 96 below the national speed limit...hehehe.
  6. Hi guys, just wondering what sort of temps the v.r runs at with an oil cooler, seen mocal mentioned here and there, my car seldomn gets above 104, even if your out 3 series slaughtering. but would like to get that down a bit. and if anyone knows of a reasonable stockist.
  7. most pointless thing under the vr6 bonnet mate, or is that the plastic spark plug tool? disconnect it, if you really want to remove the canister go for it. mine is still there but i may bin it to make space for an oil catch tank for my crank breather.
  8. thats a bad mutha baby, sounds lovely, how long did it take you?
  9. yeah, you can get a xenon conversion kit to fit in the standards, just check your bulb first, but i think they may look a bit weird in standard lights, also go fir the bi xenon, to get hi and low beam in xenon.
  10. hi guys, down at the phirm for a quickshift recently, tim down there quoted me approx £500 + fitting for a 100 shot wet noz kit, he told me its completely safe and reliable, if it was'nt he wouldnt be running it on his red mk2 rally. Now it seems reasonable regarding initial bang for your buck...problem is the refills are £60:00 a pop for a larger noz tank, which i believe gives about 24 mins of continous boost, bear in mind you will probably just use it in 2nd and 3rd. but if you get excited with it a lot, you potentially have a e.i.p conversion there in about 2 years. So i was just wonder
  11. good point well made kalv, i dont want a low vr with deep dish alloys, yawn, its all about your own personal touches, ive got a badgeless grill, but its the f.k. 4 bar rather than the run of the mill two.
  12. very well built cars, and ideal for the misses!!
  13. hey damian, strange what you just said above there, i actually got mr v.r after my divorce also, lol. maybe we should start start a thread titled "WHATS MORE FUN, URE MISSES OR URE VR6?
  14. dont know about 200k boys, that sort of money im afraid my car would have to have a prancing horse or bull badge on it.
  15. you will never get everythingall atonce dude, unless you want to shell out the better part of 10k in bits and associated labour and stuff. i was down at the phirm last month, they were doing an e.i.p 400 b.h.p conversion on venom motorsports v.r. problem then becomes traction, clutch, e.t.c, and really 400 brake is probably a bit too much for a daily driver.
  16. the synta has actually been replaced by fuchs oil at v.w and g.s.f, its still semi synthetic, and only about £15:00. i do my oil after about 5 thousand miles, and still get the noise, just a case of having a bit of mechanical sympathy and not booting the car before your engine warms up properly.
  17. i removed the trumpet from my car after about 1 day of owning it, only thing i can assume is that mr.vw wanted to keep noise levels down, bear in mind 10 odd years ago a vr6 highline was being marketed ae the top of the range mk3 "luxohatch" so they probably didnt want it too noisy. crazy as it seems to us lot now.
  18. the grill can be a bit fiddlt to put back, but should git eventually.
  19. steering rack, wishbone bushes or track rod ends will probably be a good place to start mate.
  20. well done matey, your thread is really getting me thinking, do u know much about the eip conversion?
  21. Well lets be realistic here boys and girls, nobodies going to come on and say yes, im a bit snobby coz i have a leather interior in my car and you dont you peasent!! but one of the problems i had when i first started looking for a vr was the fact that in london u have to drive for a total of about 300 yards before you see a mk3 golf, then my mate pointed out that you cant just discount the car because of it being a common car, and how many are actulaay vr's, now when im driving around and i see another mk3 golf, lowered or whatever, ill look out to see if it has the leathers, or rear headrests
  22. if youve got tthe silly plastic tool on your motor, and a spare few hours to kill, give it a crack, i just have mine there purely for cosmetic purposes now, the metal ones are a lot easier.
  23. yeah interesting concept the idea of the buggati, clarkson said the only problem he had after driving the car was the fact that he knew he would never own one. i think if you work hard enough, you can get to the ferrari, but 800k, you probably wont ever get there!!!!
