  1. could be a load of things dude, get it on a rolling road so u know exactly how bad ure performance is, then you can take it from there.
  2. ive got some f.k coilovers matey, tried the konis, but found them a bit harsh, ride height goes from 30 to abt 90 mm drop, handle great.
  3. hi matey, yeah that looks buggered. i got a new coilpack for about £100:00, but it wasnt like these pics above, it was the whole unit, had to drill through a couple of holes that were not open, p.m me if u wld like the details, ill look them up for ya.
  4. at least they remembered to muzzle one of them, must be a crazy one him!!!
  5. hi matey, ive just had my head port polished and matched, gas flowed and same with the inlet and throttle body, as well as new valves, stems, followers, chains, clutch and related tensioners and stuff, its not cheap, but the gains seem worthwhile!
  6. cheers boys, opened my bonnet and guess what was sticking out of the barake fluid bottle? lol, thanks guys, ill blue tac it for now!!!!
  7. does putting on porsche rims with adapters have any kind of negative effect on the actual handling or ride?
  8. got a bosch 60a last week also, bout £45:00, seems pretty good so far, as my son left the stereo plugged on for 2 hrs with the car off 2 hrs yesterday, but it was fine!!lol
  9. interesting listening to pple who dont actually have a clue abt the vr, most of them dont seem to have a clue, i spose one of the thins is that there r just so many mk3's around, pple just assume its just a "soooped up g.t.i"
  10. from my understanding of it, u lose 18% power, different roads will give slightly different readings, but u will more that likely be losing a lot more than that.
  11. ive always wished the vr had traction control u cld switch off!
  12. yeah, in theory the prelude will be quicker, but in reality its a tin can, so it will shake rattle and roll, the v-tech (depebding on year) only comes into effect at about 5,200 rpm, so its like nothing...nothing...nothing....then all hell breaks loose, not very practical when my trip computer is showing an average of 20 mph over the last 500 odd miles.i recently drove a nsx, and even that had the same problem with a 3 litre lump, the v-tech is an impressive piece of engineering, but in my opinion the charecteristics of the rev happy engine r better for track use!!
  13. yeah, but its all about that personal preferance, rather than ooohh lets all get a letterbox now!!
  14. yeah matey, had this problem a couple of weeks ago on a mates vr, the slave cylinder is just a little piece of plastic that holds the clutch rod to the pedal, if u strip the bottom of the wheel, get down there with a torch, u will see what i mean, now where that piece of plastic sits in the actual pedal mechanism, it has a little piece of metal to stop the cylinder going through when pressure is applied, so u can do 1 of 2 things, get the little piece of metal welded back on, or get the whole pedal changed, i was borrowing my mates car when it went, so just got it dome from a garage, they char
  15. hi matey, ive just had the same stuff done to my head? how much did u pay for the head work?
  16. mine had 89k miles, timing chain blew, bent 5 valves, total rebuild cost bout 2k, but i did manage to get the head gas flowed, port polished, put in a new clutch, mk 4 head gasket, flow the throttle body also, so its not all doom and gloom, shes flying now!!!!
  17. yeah, i cld have got another engine, but by defenition its a second hand lump, so what gautantee would i have had that the timing chain on that wasnt gonno go, in the end the company i used did all the extra head work at a fairly reasonable price.
  18. mine had a similar problem dude, timing chain blew in the end, but the car was possibly running incorrectly long before that, but do ure colipack, its a good place to start.
  19. hi matey, i dont know where u r, i know a really good guy in hounslow-west london, he will charge u approx £300:00 for a cobra cat 1, full closure, fully fitted.
  20. cheers guys, 330 is a good bet then i reckon, i think im gonno go for a momo jet
