  1. hey guys, i dont know if theres any spaces or any last min drop outs id like a space if poss.
  2. suspension put on to lower it. yes they are highsport coilies.(height adjustment only) strut brace to tighten up the front.
  3. the suspensions gone on to lower the car over my new alloys, the neuspeed strut brace is available from awesome gti
  4. Hi guys just put on my fk suspension, and now it blatantly needs a strut brace, just wondering if there is a particular one thats any better, doesnt need to be flashy, just functional and ideally not steel. thanks
  5. UPDATE: yup the problem was the coilpack, not giving no spark to cylinder 6, got a new bosch one now all sorted.
  6. coilpack was actually one of the first things i ever replaced on my car, it was new from a engineering firm in essex, i might try this tomorrow, ill report back.
  7. bottom line is serious power from the vr means big money, 153 aint bad, save up £5k, and if youve got the heart, gearbox, LSD, clutch and a few internals is about all you will need on top of this, not much will be leaving you then hopefully: http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/eip-stage-1-turbo-kit-volkswagen-28l-12v-gtigolf-vr6-p-7407.html p.s make that + £1500 to £2k more if you dont do the work yourself
  8. will do matey, my only real concern is that if a plug & lead change cures the problem again, this will be the 3rd new set of leads on the engine since my rebuild about 18 months ago, so if this next set also goes in about 6 months, i guess it must be a fault with my coilpack which i bought from an engineering company in essex, but ill get back to you as soon as ive got the new leads and plugs in.
  9. actually, at the risk of sounding like an anorak, the j.d.m wrx sti v5, is the same lump as the p1, irrespective of 2 door or 4, still its a cool fast car, still doesnt sound like a vr tho...
  10. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OBX-Red-Spark-Plug-Wires-98-05-VW-Golf-GTI-Jetta-VR6_W0QQitemZ230259714011QQihZ013QQcategoryZ9889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Hey guys, wondering if anyone on here has any experience or ever heard of these?
  11. interesting this, mine has been doing exactly the same thing over the las few weeks, going to change spark plugs and leads this week, ill update you then.
  12. i did mine without removing the coilpack, bit more fiddly, also dont forget to get the new o rings for inside the switches.
  13. when you say "had to put my foot down" what sort of rpm's & speed are you talking about?
  14. a litre per 1k miles is about right, but thats semi synthetic, fully synthetic will burn up even faster, its not really anything to worry about, its just because of the nature of the vr6 lump running so hot.

  16. depends on what you mean by vr tuners dude, what you looking to do to your motor?
  17. the prices are all relative boys, if you know somebody, (not how we all know the local knock merchant) but a close friend or family member who is in the game, you will peobably get the best deal. ive been quoted £200:00 for my rear bumper, both arches rolled and sprayed, known the guy since i was about 7, so i know hes not gonno knock me, but as with all things, if your getting mates rates, then i have to be a bit flexible also, so he will need the car for a couple of days. So i guess you just need to speak to your mates/family and find out about someone reliable.
  18. as above, i had a rebuild and had all the inlets and outlets port matched and polished, adn allthough it hasnt given any more b.h.p, the car is just much better, driving up and down through the gears.
  19. seems more than likely going to be a problem with your leads and plugs, id suggest u give it a good service and take it from there.
  20. its a cool game, me and a mate spent a day doing all the licenses, now another "S" license has opened up, you can get it from game with a sony controller for £45:00
  21. tim down at the phirm removes your original one and custom fabricates it. you have to obviously go down there, i had mine done last year, seems absolutely fine, taken a good 8,000 miles of abuse since, and now if i drive a mk3 golf without it, the gear shift feels like a tranzit van!!! i think it was about £100.00
