anyone tried the Ramair Maxflow Kit? looking at the BMC but I always like to try something a little different
-
TBH think it's worth it! it's hard to find a corrado that hasn't had paint sometime in it's life, plus Cat D isn't exactly major can't really go wrong for that price! even if it takes £500 for bodywork and the timing chains need doing @ around £500 it's still a £3k storm! bargain but my opinion is slightly bias
-
has the damage been reported to the insurance company? even a Cat D would reflect in the price! could do with some pics of it really, but sounds like a good buy to me

hmmm.. think it may be the serpentine belt tensioner, as it's also started to make a high pitch tone when the car is idling! annoying considering it was replaced not long before I brought the car I'll report back when I get round to replacing it

no. 5 would have saved me getting oil over the drive!
-
did mine myself on my gravel driveway I needed 2 trolley jacks (or axle stands) to get the front end high enough to fit a bucket under the sump plug to drain it, which is more than high enough to get at the oil filter HTH Phill

hmmm.. serviced mine less than 400 miles ago, used semi synthetic 10/40 but not the VW good stuff. if it gets any worse I'll change the oil/filter again with VW oil Thanks for the info guys

Yes mate, 2 seconds maximum then it's gone

:$ Sorry if this has been covered before guys but I'm terminally bad at searching (and generally finding anything) basically the Corrado VR has produced a really nasty rattle for the first few seconds of running on cold start-up I've not confirmed which side of the engine yet, but will investigate it tomorrow it's had a new aux. belt tensioner recently and I've not heard any signs of the infamous timing chain rattle yet (138k now) could this be a common (also read simple) problem? like the tensioner not being fitted correctly (don't they need to be 'primed' with oil before fitting?) thanks in

mind if I ask how much the new head cost you? that's some bad luck but Well done for getting it sorted yourself!
