  1. total closure is a v.a.g group feature, but if you have an alarm ftted the cat 1 alarms will usually have the facility to lock your windows and sunroof when the alarm is activated via the f.ob.

  3. my car had exactly the same problem last week mate, it was my leads, u really dont need to pay someone to do your leads and plugs mate. but it will be eiher your leads, plugs or coilpack.
  4. hi there, i have a simple view on this, we all bang on about the V.R roar, blah...blah...blah. My exhaust is completely standard, had work done on the inlet, got a k & n filter, so i was pretty much expecting the exhaust to go next. now i know my car, i know its quick, i dont want to make any noise, infact if it wasnt for the performance factor i wld seriously be tempted to go o.e. my cars a daily driver and i want noise to be minimum,a mate had a £750:00, mini drager exhaust put on a civic vtech, we drove to the motorshow in birmingham, and it was like going there in a washng machine on

  6. i got some megaleads, put them in about 6 months ago, day before yesterday car started to misfire under abou 3000 rpm in each gear, closer inspection, and 3 of the megaleads were f***ed, metal ends stuck on the spark plugs, came apart in my hands as i tried to get them out, and i was never really happy with the feel of the silicone, the actual coil inside seemed tiny, but the main problem with them was the fitment around the spark plug. so yesterday i treated the beast to a new set of n.g.k platinum,s and a set of o.e 7mm rubber leads, and the car is running better than when it came out after

  8. no its not, mie idles at between 650 and 750 on idle once its warmed up and my engines running absolutely fine.

  14. I think you need to stop paying these charges after you get this affair sorted and either start working on your car yourself or go to a specialist.

  17. i believe tim at the phirm does something very similar to what your mentioning above mate, he actually takes your factory somponent out and rewelds that, its pretty labour intensive, and if your car is a daily driver, u dont want to mess it up, he charges about £100:00 (maybe plus v.a.t)
  18. i had a chat with tim at he phirm while hea was doing my quickshift, he said that all the n.o.z kits now are very reliable and safe, if they were not he wouldnt be running it on his red mk2 rallye, the engine build on that cost him about 10k he told me, so the last thing he eants to do is blow it up.

  20. £2400 should comfortably get you a highlinr mate, but a word of advice, make sure the timing chains have been done, mine blew after about 2 months of owning the car, the subsequent head rebuild and associated work cost me anothe 2k, lol. best of luck with your hunt!
