    yeah hi guys, 1 of the chains blew on my way back from the rolling road on nov 25th, no compression in top fo engine obviously, head came off, 5 bent valves, top of haed needed welding, so i decided to have the head gas flowed and port polished, as well as the intake/outlet and throttle body flowed. i have to say, i havent driven it much yet, but it seems like its definately a lot better, and mine was the black highline, not the green one.

    yeah, the 3.5 cab wheel does go straight on, looks cool as well, similar to a standard mk4 wheel, but its a case of finding one!!!

    ive had a set of FK's since the night i got my car abt 5 months ago, there meant to be very good, will hopefully go on in the next few days, ill report back to you.

    hi guys % gals, im picking up my car today thats been off the road since the rolling road day on nov 25th, with the following now been done: head needed welding, then new valve guides, and valves. gas flowed by racepower motorsport, ported and polished inlet & outlet.and flowed throttle body. new chains, tensioners,guides,gaskets, e.t.c mk4 steel head gasket silver syntha in the lump, with lucas treatment fully synthetic in the gearbox, again with lucas treatment. total is coming upto about 2k!! now im starting to understand all u guys that have said this cars ended up costing tooo much mo

    u cld mod it and connect a mini air filter type breather onto it matey, no real benefit of putting oil back into ure throttle body.

    nuff said, thats a very impressive list dude, ure cars r stored better than some pple have their cars when on the the road...lol.but ill remember to come back 2 this post if i ever need to store a car.

    hey, i have a slightly different spin on this whole thread.. question..do u want to go faster? or do u want to make more noise? if u want noise, go for an expensive kit by all means, but i believe theres too much hot air around the filter in its normal position to ever give reasonable gains for £200:00 odd pounds, i have swiss cheesed my air box and am putting in a jetex panel filter, later in the summer i might make my own feed pipes and move to the bottom of the bumper, where it gets proper cold air (my mate has this on his vr6 sc (vr6monte).

    hey guys, my port polished and gas flowed head is going back on this week...at last!!, but unfortunately i dont have an awfull amount of confidence in this mechanic, could anyone tell me if the cams shld be free spinning when put in? im gonno get him to put fully synthetic oil for the gearbox, semi in the engine, also is this lucas stuff any good?(a mate has it in his gearbox and engine on a mk4 tdi 150 beenrevo'd, and he swears by it) im gonno make him set the timing from fresh obviously, and is there anything else i should make sure he does? cheers in advance!!!!

    hi mate, cld possibly be ure rocker cover gasket, but isnt really a major problem as long as ure not losing excessive oil as the boys have been mentioning previously.

    yeah, them bloody vw clips...lol, i thought that little drainer screw was at the bottom of a hard plastic pipe.

    hi guys just wondering which metal head gasket will fit on my 1996 vr6 (obd 2) and also, which headbolts r the best and what is the advantage of buying uprated ones, as ive not really done an awfull lot to the head.

    hi guys, just had hy vr head port polished, inlet and outlet, gas flowed, also manifolds and throttle body done as well, i was just wondering if anyone cld give me an indication as to what sort of power increase this work would give? cheers.

    anyone give me an idea as to what is a reasonable price for skimming/flowing the head, port matching and polishing inlet and outlets? cheers..also anybody else had this done recently and got an idea of what sort of power increase this work may give?

    ill definately be up 4 this, just having an engine rebuild, hopefully the vr shld be running sweet in the new year.
