Oxygen sensor? Would check all the sensor to do with the engine ECU. Would need to hook it up to a diagnostic thing though. Failing any fault there, a friend of mine had a same problem on a stinky diesel van, garage recommended he put an additive to the oil, went straight through believe it or not!!

Why complain?! If I knew how I would disconnect mine as the ridiculous noise drives me nuts! I presume your courtesy light comes on when your door is open?

The clocks can be adjusted, I think. Thought you could set them up as long as they had not covered 100 miles or something. Cant help on how to fix it though!!!

Something seized maybe? Calipers at rear are a good place to start.

It is quite a potent smell, I have had a few leaks recently and I always smell them before i notice any water loss. None of my leaks have been in the cabin, but I still got a strong smell. It could be anywhere, but the thermostat housing is quite prone to leak and it is quite hard to spot.

Parts help please, BERU or not BERU?

Got some BERU plugs and Leads and Coil Pack, and theya are all OK. Mine is over 150k so what ever I do it aint gonna be a perfect engine! Hence I keep costs down by buying non genuine parts, although whenever the costs are similar I will buy genuine. The Beru plugs are actually quite good, they are of the 4 electrode type rather than the twin type that most are. I cant fault them, as non genuine parts go they are pretty good! -
And so I need a new toy to keep me amused! Been wanting a Camper for a couple of years now, but keep getting cold feet. Haha! To keep cost down was thinking of a newer one, T25 or something. Anyone got any experience of Campers? What am I looking at and for? Recommendations Petrol or Yukky Diesel etc?

I can vouch for that, in my ignorance before finding VR6OC I just went for it and pulled at the cable! New set of leads, I didnt even learn after the first one! Makes it worse my tool was rubbing against my arm on the prop as I done it!!!

I must agree, once the plastic is perished and cracked once it will do it over and over again, best to chuck it and replace it. GSF ones are fine and half the cost, think it was BERU.

Its really hard to tell where its coming from, I think it is coming from underneath, or the back. I think it is unlikely it would be anything on the front suspension as it runs and stops perfectly straight, there is no pull in either direction, generally even the slightest fault even a slightly odd tyre inflation results in a pull to the left or right. What are the symtoms of the bushes on the beam axle failing, I have heard those mentioned more than once? Thanks for your suggestions so far.

It might well be that. What do you mean by exhaust sleeve? I checked all the little rubber banjo mounts, they all seem ok.

I have a funny noise on my car. It is some kind of bush or rubber mount that is nackered, but where to start looking. It is very intermittent, only happens if I go over speed humps too fast or a very particular kind of bump in the road. It is quite noticeable, you can even feel it knock through the bottom of the car if you put your hand on it. Any ideas, it been doing it for a year, but not really got any worse. Thanks.

None of the above, but it does have 6 cylinders and a lot of horses! Which is the most important thing! However if I had my time again, I would have spent the extra pennies and got a Highline or a Storm, I am used to the luxury of a Laguna RXE, and the standard VR suck by comparison!

Patients os the key, i looked at several too, ended up going back to the first one, which had not sold cos of its price, but by comparison to the others it was mint! There are a lot of dog rough VR6 on the market. Look for ones that have a well looked after exterior and interior and you wont go far wrong, signs of rust and dents and stuff are all signs of abuse and neglect. Whats under the bonnet will be in keeping with the rest of the car.

Whatever floats your boat innit. Nowadays you cant go down a road without seeing a scoobie or similar, or some kind of other hot hatch. Back in the day if you wanted a hot hatch it was a VW or a XR2, or an Astra, now there is competitiion from every brand. The thing with all that competition is that to the uninitiated VW are simply not the best, if you just read magazines the VW are only top of the list on price! Accelleration top speed etc VW struggle against cheap nasty cars, and at the end of the day young people want a fast car but what with insurance etc all they can afford is a Honda! We

Come on VRVirgin, R32 is a VR6! If you look into what VR6 stands for it is a V6 with a single head. So VR6, V6-4Motion, and R32 all come from the same great thought, a little car with a V6, in fact I bet if you strip off all the plastic and electrics you would not be able to tell the difference! Same great V6 roar, new improved bite!!!

Maybe the clutch needs bleeding, mine sounds a bit squeaky and bubbly, so i have been considering bleeding mine. Once I find out how!

Yes they do work, bit naughty though innit. Vag Com is good. If you gonna be naughty, download the shareware from the site and get a cable off fleabay. you wont be able to use the later versions though, i use 3112 release.

Just plugged my vavavoom in to VAGCOM for the first time and got an O2 sensor fault (252), is this another name for a Lambda probe? Also why is it doing it? Says its intermittent, so i had a look on the live data feed bit with the engine on and it was reading 1.00x most of the time on idle, but i didnt take it for a spin round the block or anything. Before you ask I did clear the code, and yes it did come back within 24 hours ! Also of interest is that the car seems fine apart from a burble on decelleration, with a stock exhaust. It also has a thirst for oil, about a litre in 600, but i expec
