  1. ...... and shoot the man that put it on! Theres a guy at work keeps eyeing my VR up for towing his caravan! Says the engine is ideal for towing! IMO that would be Rape!!! The bar will be easy five minute job, but the wiring might take some time. Not hard though. Reckon those bolts are gonna be proper seized on though!
  2. Brand new ones are silent, all you can hear is the water splashing if you listen really carefully! Mine always makes a buzz when I turn the key to ignition, without starting, only lasts a couple of seconds though.
  3. Theres one on Ebay at moment if it is the coil pack. Its the same time of year mine started giving me grief. Check for cracks, top and bottom!
  4. Not sure, but it was on 5th gear on Monday, racing the A-Team wagon thingy, and winning!
  5. I like Halfrauds!!! I like the fact that I can get Screenwash for £2.50 a Gallon from GSF, and you can go to Halfrauds and get a Gallon of Pre mixed Screenwash for £5!!!! But hey its OK cos it comes in a variety of colours and its on Buy two get one Free! So after a quick Vorderman moment thats £2.50 for 3 Gallons waterdown wash from GSF, or 3 Gallons of waterdown wash from Halfrauds for a cool £10! Food for thought............................... Group buy on Pink Screen wash?!
  6. .....or the Throttle body resetting.....
  7. Beats my Nissan Cargo! I saw it too, now thats the van to have! I already been to Boss demanding one along with a 10k payrise......... ..........now seeking work!
  8. Neither did I! Is it a premium Members thing?
  9. Yeah I thought £60 a set was a joke too! Better off getting a set of cheap scuffed alloys and dumping the alloys and keeping the tyres and caps!

There were some on Ebay a little while ago, they were tiny though! Got a Rocco and its about an Inch long! They did also do VR6 GOlf
  11. Vag-Com is ODB2 compliant, which means all cars after 1995.
  12. More shocking that someone own a car and dont know what engine they got? WTF indeed!
  13. .... and cheaper than carb clean. Carb clean is a bit more powerful though.
  14. That sounds like worn contacts in the motor, or maybe a sticky solenoid, if you can hear it clicking when you try and start it.
  15. Loose connection somewhere, must be the fault. Would make sense, if it read out correctly briefly later. Mine reads constant, but it started showing lower than it should be. Like when I fill up it read just over 3/4.
  16. I would say no difference, but no evidence to support that assumtion.
  17. No, it will work it out for itself. Some say fuel consumption will go down, but thats depending on driving style.
  18. Nectar point at Sainsburys for me too!!! Always get their high Octane fuel.
  19. and the Auxillary pump hiding at the back, and make sure it not overfilled! With the cap off you should see flow coming into the tank from the little pipe at the side of the tank. What colour is the water now?
  20. IMO nothing is the same after it has been apart. A recon engine will never be the same as a brand spangly new one, but it will be a whole load better than a knackered one.
  21. Gring the heads off, that is what my mechanic done. Grind the heads off and once you can get it off use a good quality stud extractor to remove the remnants of the bolt. However the state of his overalls was not good, there were hot rock burns everywhere and he was not in a good mood when i picked the car up! and he had a ramp, so good luck getting a grinder and your head in the wheel arch!!!!
