  4. Just to share, Sitting in traffic, pushed down on my Clutch and boom!!! the pedal cracked and stuck to floor!!! not panacking and close to my house, I was able to drive in 1st (scared to try shift into 2nd without clutch pedal) With tears building in my eyes, thinking the worst, £200-£300 clutch or the hydraulic system gone faulty.... i started my investigation's...... small piece of metal (about the size of a stamp) was found in the footwell.... further investigations I discovered the pedal return mechanism, in my opinion, the worst design I have ever seen!!! requires this small piece to ho
  5. (y) SOLVED IT (y) Sat for an hour last night and tried all sorts of procedures...... disconnect then reconnect the battery, key fob docked, ignition key turned once, push key fob button once I even tried opening the drivers door at one point!!!! Whatever I done it worked, i know have a fully working conlog 900 key fob, full closure on button press Woo Hoo!! no need to stretch over the passenger seat to dock the fob everytime I want to start the car!! I know I should have wrote down each procedure, until I found the correct one. but Im happy now its all working :-)
  6. Cheers Matey. I found a scan of the official manual, but it only tells you how to operate the alarm. It tells you to take it to a dealer to recode :-(
  7. Anyone remember how to program the key fob?? I had the instructions years ago!! but not anymore :-( I know you plug it into the dock in the glove box, turn the ignition key to position 1, push the key fob button then turn off, but im sure there is another step or a different sequence. I know it can be done, coz I was able to do it years ago with those 'now lost' instructions!!! Cheers ;-)
  8. Hi Folks, I have discovered that I am missing a heated seat relay from under my drivers seat (now the passenger seat, coz I swapped it over to keep ME nice and warm) The ID code on the top of the relay is 59 and the part number is 161919533. Volkswagen want £34 + vat, for one!! Does anyone know where I could get one cheaper?? Cheers.
  9. Hi all, I'm not sure of the location of the buzzer, anyone know! Anyway, the buzzer noise came back by itself, so now I'm really confused! and it has been working ever since!! Loose wire or something i suspect! Cheers! Kendo
  10. http://gti-vr6.net/library/engine/connector_shorting_method.html Found this M8, dunno if it will help you any Kendo!
  11. Maybe the cables are for additional cd player control buttons (stalk) at the steering wheel area? Also, try lifting the back seats up and have a look under there. Cheers Kendo
  12. Hi all, I noticed last night that I left my lights on in my 97 Highline. Then I thought, 'why did the warning buzzer not go when I opened the door' further investigation proved that my buzzer is in fact not working anymore, it was working a couple of weeks ago but not anymore, any ideas anyone? Fuse or something? Cheers All, Kendo
