  1. Yeah thats right, mad aint it! My kinda thing though, cant beat CC`s!!
  2. Summertime aint it, bbq`s, world cup ( Come on Germany!!!!!), i am unfortunate enough not to have a life outside work and home!!
  3. Could be worse I seen people with the car up, engine running and idling in first and a file/sandpaper on the disc!!! Some people eh!! Sometimes you can tell just by looking at them, and they just look nackered! Patchy wear pattern or discolouration(blue)! Have you checked the pads? Not all of them have wear indicators, and some people disconnect the wire!! Some people eh!?
  4. Dont know a huge amount about it, do a search, I think there was talk of Audi TT brakes.
  5. me think someone put gti tyres on your car! Can you put wider tyres than 205 on standerd wheels?
  6. Maybe the temperature sensor faulty for the fans, or even the temp gauge. Another easy job to do, while you doing your thermostat. Tools required are allen keys, pump pliers, and a torx. Think there is a couple of threads recently on how to do it. two hours including coolant flush and refill and air purge. That was my first time.
  7. The mrs informed me that ours is doing this today as well. I noticed it over the weekend, I was thinking of an oil change, used to cure most rattles on my old mk2. Yours been serviced recently? Why would you want to change the cams?

    Racism!

The following scene took place on a BA flight between Johannesburg and London. This is a true story. A White woman, about 50 years old, was seated next to a Black man. Obviously disturbed by this, she called the air Hostess. "Madam, what is the matter," the Hostess asked. "You obviously do not see it then?" she responded. "You placed me next to a Black man. I do not agree to sit next to someone from such a repugnant group. Give me an alternative seat." "Be calm please, " the Hostess replied. "Almost all the places on this flight are taken. I will go to see if another seat is available." The H
  9. Well said!!! I like the snow plough gag! If you look into the cars eyes can you not see it is depressed about its looks, can you not see that given the chance it would roll itself in a ditch!!! lol
  10. The new rado looks like it means business! Lets hope they put a decent engine in it(VR6)!! I saw an article in a magazine, it was talking about a new engine in development for VW. V6 3.6 24V, now thats what i want!!! Who gonna do me that conversion?!!!
  11. Not BEntley the car manufacturer, its Bentley the Book manufacturer! Dunno if they related or not, maybe they are brothers lol!
  12. Apparently not available. I think there is a `Bentley` manual available for VR6 Engines, else a normal golf one would do for most other repairs.
  13. Varies, phone around for prices until you find a cheap one! simple enough to do, no brains involved!
  14. Did you put the little clips back in on the pads? Also they need to bed in after fitting, probably just wearing in.
  15. I had a similar problem on my mk2 carb, it was a stick throttle cable, used to have to hook my foot under the pedal to kill the revs. When you say you disconnect the cables do you mean the throttle cable or you tlaking about electrcal wires?
  16. Looked at on e of the kits on the bay. Good price, but the more i read about it the more i think i need a spare engine laying around. I just know I would get over excited and forget to shut it off!!! Would your average monkey mechanic know what to do with it if i gave him the box and my keys?
  17. Could try an unmodded ecu for a few months, would probably be cheaper than having it looked at.
  18. Am i correct in thinking they are pretty cheap? Saw some for about £500 for the kit. COmpared to SC and Turbo thats pretty cheap anyway. I would like one, I think VR is quick enough for everyday use, but now and then it would be nice to surprise a few Scoobies- the bain of my life!!! Would that do the trick?
  19. I paid 2k for my VR6 last year with 140k miles on the clock, totally unmodded. Could have got one for more or less, but could not afford more and any less and the bodywork was f*****!!! Holes in the footwel and stuff! Saw one for £1500 with nackered brakes and two holes in the bottom!!!
  20. Currently using a GSF, Beru Coilpack on my unmodded VR6. No problems so far, been on for 6 months.
  21. Theres one on ebay if youre not in a hurry and dont mind a gamble. Item no 220000462477. Like you said GSF ones cost ~£125.
  22. Sounds likely then. Soo hard to tell on a V6 how many are missing. On a 4 cyl engine if you lose more than one it would be totally undrivable. However it would seem totally reasonable that one of those coils could be faulty, which would give you a poor spark on two cylinders. Without proper testing gear i cant think what else you could try.
  23. The coil packs on vr6 engines have got three coils. What happens is that each plug fires twice each cycle. Once on exhaust and once when it fires. Its called a redundant spark or something. So if it was the coil pack it would most likely miss on two cylinders not just the one. What you could try doing is swapping the lead on the coil pack with its twin. when looking at the coil pack you should see they are connected in three pairs. just swap top and bottom over. Also worth trying is tapping the injector with a screw driver, as they are simple solenoid valves. Had a intermittent fault on a Lagu
