  1. Got my VR6 last November, come December theres coolant pissing from the pump. I remove the pump (looked to be the original VW pump) to replace with a Euro Car Parts item. February comes round and again water making an exit from the little valve on the pump. I grab another pump from a local motor factor as I need the car running asap. Alls fine until yesterday - water releasing from the little valve bit on the pump. I'm going on a trackday tomorrow so I need a pump ASAP so its going to have to be another motor factor job. So this will be my 3rd replacement waterpump in 7 months. Otherwise the c
  2. I've bought a Corrado 2.9 VR6 running fine. However it has had problems before as there is a dodgy bit of wire connecting the Red/Blue wire from the ECU to the Black wire on the coil. Has anyone got a pinout for the Motronic ECU and the coil? What is the function of that wire at the ECU and the coil? I thought it was perhaps to switch the coil on or to send it a signal? I presume the dodgy bit of wire has been put there because the connection is broken along its normal path. I'd like to find the break or replace the dodgy bit of wire with a neater soldered bit, but would like to know what its
  3. Got another coilpack and it's running fine, thanks to all for the help. Was no evidence whatsover of damage or leakage from the coilpack, looked fine from the outside.
  4. Right replacement coilpack on the way. I'll keep you all posted on the result. Thnaks again for the help people
  5. done this' date=' same result, miss on one, however..... UPDATE: Out of curiosity when you said this I pulled no.6 plug (no.1's twin) and this was covered in petrol too, so must be missing on that cylinder too. Does this point to the coilpack then? Anything else I can try?
  6. Apologies for the short sentances but I'm at my wit's end with this. My VR is not firing on cylinder 1 - this only seems to happen when warmed up. Removed plugs, the plug from cylinder 1 is the only one wet with petrol. Swapped whole HT lead (new leads 4 months ago) with another and still plug 1 is wet. swap plug with a new one, still wet and missing. connect spare plug to lead on cylinder 1 and start car - runs the same (missing on cylinder 1 obviously) and plug connected to lead 1 is sparking away happily. Hook up to VAG com, no fault codes. Wait till dark and spray coilpack and lead with wa
