Errr... is this the part above the "pack" held on by two bolts and bolts on to the end of the block??

......However, a new coil pack was installed at the weekend, it has made the difference, the pickup is a lot better than normal, presumably due to the correct voltage being supplied.. however the flat spottiing or stuttering is still there.. the leads are fine and the plugs are new so I'm struggling here as to where to look next... pity acf wasn't around... any ideas anyone... cam sensor?, crank sensor? mmmm naw, then the car wouldn't start surely? HEEEELLLLLPPP! &|

Well...Just had Third partys insurers off the phone, turns out he admits TOTAL liability.. Meantime I've had Verve look at it, and it's fairly extensive, labour@ £506, paints/sundries £208 and parts approx £1500!!!! Turns out if the damage is more than 60% of the value of the car, then the car is written off with the vehicle left for me to errrrmm **Cough** dispose of ... an assessor will be sent out to examine the car Seeeeeeewwwwwwwww If It is to be written off what value do you place on a rare beastie considering it was one of only 53 in the country??? ?!

F*@$in' Smokers!!!!! 13:50pm I'm approaching a T junction, minding my own business, on the right side of the road, I've signalled my intention to turn right into the junction, theres a "Nauldkunt" vehicle waiting to leave the junction towards my direction. As I approached the junction, indicator on, The "Nauldkunt" pulls out the junction on the wrong side of the road and collides with me Offside to Offside more typical head on!!! I'd stopped to avoid this guy, but he kept on coming... First words out his mouth were "I didn't see you, I was too busy lighting my fag that fell on the floor!!!" So

A lot of hassle I'd Imagine, as the golf was a transverse engine and the 5 potter an In line jobbie, putting the drive train further back or the engine further forward ...Would be interesting to see, but I doubt someone would go to such lengths as the front panels would have to be extended to accomodate the engine and use the original Running gear, %-6 But Hey! Olly K's got an Ideal donor car.... Lets Find out Eh?? !amazed

And if its the bracket I think you're referring to, I have spare ones, if you want.... I think it's like a hook, but around 1cm in width Yes?? If so I have a handful here, for the price of a stamp/envelope i could post a couple to ya....interested???

Sooooo....Errrm, what was the answer? How did you fix this "Headache" then?? Usually, what causes this is the heat applied to the cable through the bulkhead from the engine bay, causing the cable to sieze in the sleeve... I had this not so long ago... It required the dash out, baring in mind that my car is a Passat and not a Golf... I "Dribbled" some 3in1 down the sleeve of the cable, left it over night and, as they say "One Good Chug" in the morning and it's been fine ever since.... Just wondered how you did yours.... P.S Only just seen this, so Sorry for not replying sooner....
