Didn't see this coming Pete - haven't meet you but good luck in whatever you do, and thanks for making this club what it is today.

Noticed today that my mk2 VR6 was making a funny grinding/scraping noise under acceleration - popped the bonnet and found that the head of the bolt that bolts the front bracket onto the vibra mount had sheared off!!! Does anyone know what sort of guarantee they come with, as i bought it brand new about 18 months ago and wouldn't expect this to happen as it's specifically for a mk2 Golf with a VR6 engine? Also, never heard of it happening before to anyone?... TIA.

Another daily driver here - Mk2 VR6, 80mile round trip for work. Try to use the wife's Passat TDi on weekends tho, and for shopping trips as I don;t like to leave mine parked anywhere!! !sad

Have a read up on th vortex, all the yanks are going for the M90 Eatons on their VR's for good power....

Ran my german plates on my mk2 for nearly 18months daily until finally getting tugged for them. TBH, the coppers were really cool about it, gave me a producer and to change the plates but that was it. I've had them behind me before many times but I suppose your luck runs out eventually. Shame really, cos german plates look so cool compared to UK ones, and are prefectly legible.......... Just out if interest, for a car on proper german plates ie. on holiday here, would the cameras flag it as a Euro plate and just ignore it as a visitor?..... !mistrust

You'll post much better 1/4 mile times with a manual box over a standard auto box (they change up so slowly esp as the VR autos never had a sport mode etc iirc)....now if it was a DSG box, thats a different story...

Also, I think another reason apart from location, is that Vince's knowledge on VW tuning esp VR6 is limitless!!

Were the new stem seals used genuine VAG items or GSF/ECP parts?...
