  1. lookin good....but your splitter/skirt/lower rear bumper are crying out for the 'autoglym vinyl and rubber care' treatment
  2. erm, about 120k...the speedo wasn't working for a while. fsh but still an unreliable one. i doubt they'll be any less than 50k as they stopped making them about 6 years ago.
  3. totally agree...up there with the positioning of the inlet manifold bolts on a mkII 8v in terms of sheer stupidity by the germans.
  4. well, the same could happen if you had too much front theoretically.
  5. no worries. having never heard of that set-up before i don't really have a comment though. seems like it'll be a good solution though, the best bit being you can have adjustable brake bias (tip, make sure you don't have too much bias either way). a brake servo really doesn't effect the stopping power of the brakes, just how much pedal effort you use...a lot of people think less pedal effort equals good breaks, but thats not necessarily true. for example, my vr6 requires auite a fair bit of pedal effort compared to my girlfriends polo, but once at speed the polo feels very underbraked whilst th
  6. at least the lights didn't arrive last week and you'd just put them on when the armco's magnetic pull sucked you in.
  7. i'm not 100% but i think the only reason you're not to mix them is that the pink stuff is long life and the blue stuff sin't...so if you mix them it ain't long life anymore. thats what my local vauxhall dealer told me (they tend to be a bit more knowlegeable than the fools at vw) as i bought some pink vauxhall coolant for my vw's.
  8. make sure you get a decent one, not a shitty gsf one. i think FK ones are the best, they're identical to the bonrath but without the bonrath badge which is a pain when waxing the car, believe me.
  9. yeah, i think the main reason i prefer standard look is that if the average person sees any little mod on your car they look at you the same as they look at the max pooer crew, and i don't wanna be associated with them.
  10. yeah, agree with above. your cars a '92 tho, as thats the first year they made vr6's
  11. well, it is a discussion board han! lol (plus, none of us like to be wrong...we are blokes after all;))
  12. sounds like what i had and it was the battery...halfords jobbie replacement cured it.
  13. yeah mansell did ok im london and in the minardi twoi seater staged raced at donningon (where they were pootling round anyway - yet he still manged to climb over alonso! lol), but the guy on top gear was properly going for it. i doubt mansells been keeping his fitness in check enough for that.
  14. you'll have to get down the gym and build up your leg muscles, as you'll need a fair bit more effort. maybe a lower model mkIII has one?
  15. yep, thats right ben...shamew fluch tailgates look crap. you can get tow hooks whihc don't need bumper modifications...just not sure which one.
  16. yeah, but you can just use the old top cam cover for that problem.
  17. trust me bell that was neither of those two driving the f1 car...you can't just hop back in and thrash one like that. especially as they're so out of touch with current f1 technology. damon hasn't driven an f1 car since '99, and mansell last drove one in '96, and f1 technology moves on at a very fast pace.
  18. you'll start wearing manky old slippers and wearing a flat cap soon mark! lol
  19. its julian all the time now is it then? (tho montagny in the f1 car)
  20. i still reckon that it is perry...the driving style is exactly the same. just cause he says its not him doesn't mean that he ain't lying;) mcnish is contracted to audi so unlikely.
  21. GSF list their own part no's but its the same stuff.
  22. elephant's site is doing really weird stuff at the mo, was doin quotes for my sis and it gave a cheaper price for a golf mkIII 1.8 driver than for a 1.4CL!
  23. perry mccarthy is the main stig, but others do step in from time to time...such as julian bailey. i don't think damon has ever done it, or johnny, as they don'#t tend to throw cars around in the same way. though the guy in the f1 car yesterday was someone else who was up to date with current f1 technology, and renault technology at that...i'm pretty sure it was renault tester franck montagny. if you noticed he was wearing an arai helmet as opposed to the simpson one the stig usually wears [ Edited Mon Dec 20 2004, 07:31AM ]
