  1. Seriously Key, do you think thats gonna stop someone waisting time and money on an utterly useless modification?!! Why scrape round trying to find 1hp from a. A modification that will not only take ages and a lot of effort to do and b. More than likely make no difference what so ever to the performance of the car and may even reduce power?!!!
  2. How does that work? I've never seen an R32 engine with a black inlet manifold before.
  3. More than likely be the MAF. I very much doubt the exhaust will be blocked enough to restrict RPMs like that. If it was that bad, you'd hardly get any gases coming out from the tailpipes.
  4. Why would you need to clay brand new paint? The only reason for using any kind of abrasive compounds on paint work is to rennovate and flatten it and your new paint should be completely contaminant free.
  5. Some people think the use of clay is just a simple quick squirt of detailer and then a rub with the clay, I've seen so many poor attempts that have introduced marring which you'll never remove unless its hit with a G220 or orbital. My tip before you even attempt to do any moderate renovation work to your paintwork is to really do your research. Have a good browse on Detailing World before you do any damage you cannot rectify.
  6. Sanky, you've got far too much time on your hands! lol
  7. Quite simply i'd say fuel economy and performance. Long Stroke + Big Bore = Lots of air and fuel!! Until V8's became over squared i.e lower capacity and shorter stroke so they revved higher, they were just gas guzzling torque monsters. However the cost of these engines now are astronomical as quad cams and multi valves are very intricate machines. So all in all, V6s due to their shorter stroke an smaller bore make a great compromise.
  8. I think you need to have a little look at the offsets too fella, the fronts stick out way more than the rear don't they?
  9. An angle grinder is the worst possible way to loose your arch lip as the arch is double skin'd and if you grind the edge off it you risk distorting the arch. Come on guys is this the Ford owners club site? Do things by half and you'll always end up with half the job. The only way to do it is to be prepared for paintwork and have them folded back completely against the arch and sealed. You'll end up with inner arches just like a beemer and they'll be strong.
  10. Shall I? Na, sod it, thats too slow, how about this? http://www.vwtuningmag.com/hgp-golf-r36-biturbo/ I'm sure it'll of been seen by a majority of people on here.
  11. my 320 hp vr MURDERS mk4 r32s trust me iv got 1 lol my vr vs r32 at the pod ps the vr6 weighs 1155kg the r32 weighs 1500kg! so there is a big diffrence stock for stock a vr has no chance And your point is? Were we talking about 320hp VRs? I think thats pretty obvious fella.
  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5m5vJ-R0nFs I cant really comment on a manual R32 as mine is DSG, however from what you can see in this video, the launch control is pretty good at it's stuff I've seen 0-60 performance figures quoted from 5.9-6.2 seconds for DSG and launch control. To be fair, even if mid range was similar to a VR6 by the time 100mph is achieved, I seriously doubt the VR6 would recover from the 0-60 drag as the R32 would go on to 155mph without a loss of breath all the way to the limiter.
  13. If we're gonna be like that, I tell you what i'd love to see, a standard VR v's a standard MK5 R32 around the top gear track! Now that would be funny! I'm not entering into any arguments!
