lol you could say that.. no ramp on the drive in England dark wet no one to help lovely lol most vw cable clutch box don't clip on... just rest on top of the forks... always thought it was a poor design but come across a few the same?
-
can't remember regarding the VR but most release bearings are loose / not clipped to anything so make sure you push it all the way on and just before you push the gearbox the rest of the way on i put my hand inside the bell housing and make sure its seated properly only reason i say is because ive put a box on before to find the bearing had slipped off as i lifted the box up and was liying on the floor next to me... wasnt happy Also i take it you've removed the slave cylinder?

Well that comferms it Some pics of suitable bodges lol I want to meet the legend that "fabricated" this manifold lol Hero status

you slide it onto the gearbox side over that shaft There should be some grey lube that comes with it. lube it up and just slide it over No force need atall Get some photos if you don't understand what im on about.. only takes 10 seconds to fit it

doing it yourself is faster than handing it to a garage Do you know what your doing? rebuild can be anywhere from £400 for shells rings chains headgauket Or you could spend 6 times that with new pistons rods tappits rebore bla bla bla If you only want 400 then just drop your head off.. add spacer and apr head/ rods new chains and go drive it

Depends what power you want from it. The way i look at it is that if you build a VR to the speck that kevs got with all the head work ect, running 400bhp at 11psi then if you want turn it upto to 20psi then you've got a silly amount of power Advantage of R32 is you could run less boost and still have the same power making the R32 more reliable, But a fully built VR is reliable anyway So imo If you want more than 500bhp... have money to spare and want something more unique then put a R32 in Happy with 400bhp and not bothered about owning somthing thats been done before stay with the VR

hello and welcome... I went from a 1.4 to the VR and didn't have any problems.. Just took some time to adjust.. At that millage the only thing your looking for over what you would check anyway is timing chains Ask if his had them done.. if not be prepared to pay out £600 to have them changed in the future if they get noisy Redline it everywhere and fuel will start to get pricey but by the sounds of how you drive you wont notest a huge difference in fuel... Perhaps £10 more on fuel a week at a guess My rents wernt to happy when they finally worked out the size of the engine lol Best th

Rear Brake Pressure Regulator
Phat VR6 replied to golfgirlvr6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
obd2s don't have them... well mine didn't! ABS take away the need for one My load sencing valve is about 2mm from the very top which is mostly braking at the front. (ive removed abs) Stops the back end locking first and stepping out altho id like alittle more going to the back Unfortunately its a case of jack it up, adjust drive, jack up again till you got it spot on but 2 mm from that top will be a good starting point Guessing your abs isn't working?
