Groaning noise when pulling away
Phat VR6 replied to ip's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Its normal for the engine to more quite alot. mine was about 1.5-2" ummmm its hard to say as everythink is new lol, ball joint would make the knocking noise but as you say there brand new Knocking noise doesn't happen more on full lock does it? Also have a look along the exhaust system to make sure its not knocking on somthing (rear axal?) What ever it is its probaly going to get worse lol when it does it will be easyer to see lol If your standing still and turn the wheel left to right does it make any noise? -

does sound like engine mount as when you brake the engine can shift (doesn't have to be in gear) The way to check is get someone in the car with handbrake on and lift clutch up and down while you look at the engine mounts failing that it sounds like you've left somthink loose (easy to do when you carry out a number of jobs at the same time) Ive had it on mine with the front wishbone bolt, Altho bolt was TIGHT it still hadn't gripped the metal sleeve inside the bush, I removed the bolt cleaned threads small amount of copper grease and tighten again this time did the job, shitty theads sto -

LOL fair play, As long as your not a arsehole round hear they are really sound, Kick off at them and your fucked I had the same kind of thing trying to get away along with a big list of things i could have got points for, Twice the speed limit, 2 front tyres on 1.5mm lol, Not stopping, cut in side wall on rear from rubbing on arch, cracked windscreen, abs light on, no front number plate, few other things They dropped everything and canceled my MOT 3 points and £160 fine To say the least i was chuffed lol Ive got my own little rule. stop if there behind you, If there facing the other w

Why are you going turbo if you want smooth progressive power? If your only after 300-400 brake why not get a Rotrex? There a grope buy on them somwhere on hear
-
Think its a 4 wheel drive mk2 which probably helps lol Why is it that this dave dude gets better times than much more powerfull VRs? Just better starts or somthink?
-
glad you got it sorted dude, £240 isn't bad considering the work you saved yourself When working on my car i offend think fuck this im taking it to a garage. People think garages are expensive but after trying to do the work your self they seem VERY cheep indeed lol PS leave your car how it is for a while lol DONT take a spanner to it

steering is pulling? any ideas??
Phat VR6 replied to Dezmond_vr6's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
Somthink could be bent but as said above getting your chamber sorted could fix it, If your cambers out then it will pull to the left, you've just got to find out why your cambers out, weather its somthink bent or just a simple case of adjustment -
lol stopping is good, Nope R32 brakes don't fit, Porsche brakes need brackets making aswell Its TT brakes, Porsche or some 4/6 pot aftermarket sets Seen some 4 pots 312mm brakes for the VR for £400 somwhere but can't remember where

Do these quattro IMSA gearbox's bolt strate onto VR engine R32 ect which flywheel /clutch do you use? -
Due to the fact ally sumps shatter i started thinking, R32 oil pump and pick up with shallow modified 12v steel sump, Would take some welding and fabricating but should be easy enough Plus you can reinforce and plate it, You say that the plastic baffles remove from the R32 sump? How much work would it be to mount in a 12v sump from memory? Anyway way think this way would be the best of all worlds if your running low
