    WHATS FASTER

image problem? i saw a banged up automatic n reg red vr6, with a lovely woman in it yesterday, i was hoping it had a vr6oc sticker in the back but no..hehe. i think the mk3's have a good image, does anyone agree? some of the mk2 owners in harrow don't have a good image though.
  3. i remember the way running out of the tailgate seam's on hot days.
  4. they are the inpro xenon optik mk4 "look" angel eyes but dont have celis elements on them, they are ideal for painting body colour . the hella celis are excellent too. dunno if this link will work to eurocarparts http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecommerce/Response.asp?action=SEARCH&type=PRODUCT∂=471440475&item=4
  5. my old mk2 89 was still cracking on at 142k, brilliant little car, rusted like hell in places no one would ever look, i remembered how good the mk2 can be when i saw valvers car at work, really nice, they looks great on those fat borbets.
  6. alright m8, but so although i was incorrect in saying it was anodizing, i was correct on the oxidization.
  7. ive seen that before, i believe that RHD manifolds arent ready for our cars. 300bhp is the limit? from what i've heard 300bhp is a recommended figure to start getting on a spacer etc. I thhink you'll find out when you get detonation problems or your engine blows up . anyways, if you can get a charger cheap, get it .
  8. mines stamped 1995 too, finally another odb 1 highline .
  9. i thought anodising forms oxidises the surface of the metal where paint cant be used? i understand galvanising has been a process used on golfs from the mk1?
  10. you can't do it reliably under 2000 pounds, not 300bhp, you can pick up a z-eng kit for under 1.5k s/h or if ur lucky a vortech kit for under 2k, but you wont get a stage 3 vf kit s/h for under 2k, they sell for 3.2k new, c2's stage 2 is 2.7k new, if u go for 300bhp, u need to reduce compression ratio or get water injection and or think of gear box mods. you cannot do this on an old car without serious love. believe me, i've had a reasonable time with my charger and its not been cheap and have had loads of discount. if i had to quote how much ive spent it would be in the low 2k range, if took
  11. if someone offers to do your full tracking for 25 quid dont believe it, i went to a tyre shop and they told me 35 quid per side for camber (front wheels), it requires specialist equipment to do, get it done proper m8, it'll cost u, but its worth it and most garages chain garages dont do it?!
  12. hi im interested in what mileage you were at too.
  13. schrick = variable intake manifold, switches over at a certain rpm to different inlect tract runner, cost s/h <1000. charger = good, reinforces stock feel, only applicable over 3000 RPM, sounds good, cost new 2000+, s/h as cheap as 1000.
  14. believe me, its alot quieter than my golf binliner, its not noisey unless you dump large amounts of throttle on it, my golf is ear piercing at idle haha. i was driving around pinner yesterday with a friend in the car, the v1 really frigging brilliant when its revved, but its just a too annoying at idle.
  15. read some of these threads, they will help you m8 http://www.gti-vr6.net/library/EngineFuelSystem_index.html#Enginemountstransmissionmounts
  16. my charger abuses my pistons nightly hehe. but i really enjoyed reading these posts. i found my mk2 which was 10 years old when we got it leaked like a bitch and creaked groaned and had rust patches. my mk3 hit 10 years old last month and 80000 miles too, it has a little bit of bubbling under the window sill, nothing too bad, it doesnt groan or leak, which is great. the production process for the mk3's seem to be good, with the advent of anodisation and what not.
  17. they sound better than the vr, its a 50 grand car, it is better in just about every way, its probably one of the best driving cars ever made heh. no point guessing, they are f00king excellent cars, but i'll have to wait until christmas to get one.
  18. i need a v2 sq, im gonna have to safe up, give me a call and let me know how much i stand to lose.
  19. i drove a car with a shrick today, it feels amazing, low end is spectacular.
  20. i use a g-tech performance meter on the slip road to elstree aerodrome from aldenham school which is about 2 miles, perfectly flat. it plugs into the cigerette lighter and uses acceleratometers to calculate 0-60's, 1/4 miles, g-force and speed. alot of the 200bhp golfs will be sub 7 i think m8ty, vr6's have great power.
  21. looking for, golf mk4 r32 for a new supercharger project, porche boxster s also supercharger project in mind or nissan skyline gtr (t/t) with no mods, maybe a chip. if i can get the vr6 sorted out with stage 1!!, im lazy enough to keep it, and spend 1.4k on a respray, 500 on coilies, at least 2k on further engine mods and 300 quid on a stage 2 for c2. I got a lecture from a good VW owner, how maintaining a car in this state of tune requires effort and isn't a joke, anyways, 200sx is a great car too.
  22. most people agree that the z-eng kit is good too, if your going for s/h buy z-eng, if ur going for new, buy a kit from vf or c2 with the v2 -sq trim.
  23. is your car odb1 or odb2? also engine speed sensor is irrelavent when the engine isnt started. sweet
  24. yes, you will be requiring more throttle becuase you wont be getting very good burns in your cylinder if half the spark current is ground out prior to the spark terminal. expect 18-30mpg depending on how you rag it. my stage 2 s/c gives me 14mpg when ragging it and 28mpg on the motorway, its pretty decent. only difference is it costs mroe becuase you have to put in super unleaded (97/98 ron)
  25. its fine when you are in milton keynes, but when you're driving in central london, in particular when noel gallagher lives opposite you and you park your car on a street full of porches and classy cars that start ever so quietly in the heart of the west end :/, it just becomes a nuisance, regardless of how 'cool' it is. I have to park my car in Bloomsberry Square underground car park becuase it is just TOO noisey here. XKR's are for old people becuase most jaguar drivers are old, we have two and both are my parents, who are obviously over 45/55, last year we had a carrera 4 s until leaving it
