  1. i find 15w/40 is fine, its quite thick, good temperature rating...im not sure about 0w, isnt that quite thin, ur vr ma y **s it out everywhere, my supercharger thread has quite ALOT of oil related things in it, i think its pages 10-20...lol.
  2. it cools things down in operation lol. you can hear the engine rpm change slightly, but the benefits wont be fully realised until i get the dastek remapped to take full advantage of the cooler running cylinders are high boost conditions. the water would run down into the sparewheel well if it did leak...its very unlikely the connections are so strong the only way i could seperate the pipe work was to cut off the end and take a stanley knife to the barbs....its very quiet when in operation too, you can hear it prime if the engine's off, but with the engine on, you need to rely on the system 'a
  3. standard vr6's do look very much like GTI's, the r32 does look like a mk5....yes the performance is different. My concern is that the original r32 was a bold car, with a beautiful body kit, a lovely ride, and making the fat mk4 look half decent. This mk5 r32 just looks too normal, which means that grandpa's and the like will buy it, which is great for VW, great for the modyfying scene since people will make loads of body kits. i'm not a fan of the design, i prefer the gti...they did a good job with the mk5 gti, i thought it was 4wheel drive but its only 2fwd?
  4. they are autogauge smoked, electroluminecant gauges. 1 boost and the other is air/fuel. I've got a 2 pod a piller moulding for the mk3 on its way, but its going to take another week to come! the injector goes into the boost inlet pipe after the charger, but before the throttlebody (its close to the supercharger exit side of the boost pipe). its run, but it needs a remap to take full advantage of the effects of WI. its not expensive to do if you install it yourself. Quite honestly, you can do a REALLY good job if you spend about 20 quid on bits and bobs, i'm really happy with my install, i just
  5. keep it up m8, i hardly do anything to my car so i cant say im in the same boat, but i totally respect the people who take time to do their car's and mod them/tune them. dont give up!
  6. Hi all, I've finished my Water Injection installation! Here are a few pics and at the end, there is a video. This is basically what you get in the 'deluxe' coolingmist kit. I bought it from www.tuninguk.co.uk for
  7. on my vr6, the slat'ed hole has a sensor attached to it. the barbed connection goes to a water (overflow) pipe. squeezing the pipe removes any airlocks, and running with the bottleopen helps, just check if ur heating works m8.
  8. if you try finding a vagcom compliant guide to building a odb2 interface, then it should be flash compliant, the guides are on the net, ive seen a few when looking for my odb1 cable. as for your chip tuning question, i don't know m(any) people who could 'tune' a chip for a mk3 without it seeing a rolling road, how can you ge the timing/fueling map's correct (guess??), although there are a lot of chips on ebay you could probably buy cheaply, and take a copy of their roms. Good luck, its a bit of an odd request.
  9. yep, ive taken it off the pcv valve pipe work...get a vag reading of 10hgi instead of 20...wierd..... simey, the point of the boost gauge is to see if your running on boost, and since its going to be pillar mounted, i wont have to take my eyes off the road, its just like checking your speedo...no big deal.
  10. my balls are medium, i have a supercharger, if you have small balls get HAI (hot air injection)
  11. hey jay, i would go and get the garage to perform the tests for you if you arent conformtable (knowledgable) with them. You should be able to remove your spark plugs yourself, and check them out. oil does come out the breather valve if its cracked and it love to drip on the manifold causing a smell. but if its been fixed, then shouldnt be aproblem anymore ?! dont get too annoyed with your pistons, just remember its an old design, and as the car gets older, its gonna wear, i think the seals will need replacing if its getting bad, just go get vw or another vw specialist to look at it and confi
  12. right, fill up the the water bottle (and various pipes), have a BIIIG jug of water available, and turn on, LEAVE the expansion cap open (vw shouldve done this for u and checked or leaks when they did ur head gasket!!!), run the car squeezing the top radiator pipe, run for a while, ensure heating works. then if you have leaks from your expansion bottle, IDENTIFY them and RECTIFY them, there should be no leaks. a busted water pump will leak, check to see if its leaking, check to see if the pump pully is turning or if its wobbling. vw charge quite a bit for water pump replacement....mine needed c
  13. in the modeo auto box, if you back off the throttle at the RPM you want to change at, it will go up a gear
  14. my thought was, if there was a problem, you;d know becuase your guage would TELL you LOL. anyways, i've decided to T off near the PCV, (breather) its a bit of a long way, but i'll try it, im gonna try swapping the vacuum hoses around a bit first though. p.s LOVE your new sig.
  15. if you split your vacuum hose some how (in your car most likely, against sharp edges), then you'll lose vacuum to your fuel pressure valve, and youll run VERY VERY lean .
  16. pcv? is the near the breather? ive checked near there, the 1 pipe going into the intake, joins the valve and then heads off to the fuel breathing system, can i T into that, or is there a spare connection somewhere i can use.
  17. ive been told that is i *ck that up, my engine will blow up...vince told me its not a good idea to splice into the fuel pressure regulator, take it from anywhere BUT there. now blownvr says that its becuase i have a non return valve in my brake servo vacuum feed, but i've cut into the vacuum pipe BEFORE the valve....the fuel pressure regulator is the last place (if its my only option left). see pic for valve (orange hose is what i use to T in).
  18. i dont know, it has vacuum and boost, i enclose some pics
  19. he started to use kerosine becuase of the fuel prices in the UK....
  20. i assumed, the zr2 is generally quiet . I do get a bit of wierdness changing gear, its like a hiccup. maybe a dv will help?
