  1. yes the pump is big, the first one is the SAME one from the group buy in corrado forums.
  2. Sorry spam threads, but i have quite a few topics, ive seen the following water injection kits on ebay and wonder if anyone thinks they are good/bad. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8000957965&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8000991945&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT - doh this one is in italy. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8001564165&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
  3. so getting rid of the cat is probably a good idea until MOT time right?
  4. Hi, my torque curve peaks near 5k rpm, but my max power is near 6k. What adjustments (timing/fueling) can you make to move the torque up the the rev range. would a restrictive exhaust (too much backpressure) contribute to this problem?
  5. got a quote from flux for 720 quid, 23, 3 years ncb, 3 years licence, fully comp, 300 bhp supercharger, alloys, ice, lights (basically everything including my k&n induction kit for the s/c). thats a DAMN good quote...damn good.
  6. hope you havnt got water injecction thru the head gasket hehe
  7. yeah we had the group buy, and non of them fit :(.
  8. yes, all of the above are the common ways that water leaks out of ur vr. to check the water pump, just see if its running straight (or if it wobbles), water should be leaking out of it if its going. also that thermostat housing, somtimes it cracks right under neath it, and its REALLY hard to see where its coming from, i'd use some UV fliud and leave it in your cooland and try to find it the day after using a black light.
  9. agree with dubloke, 1000 quid for p&p, vr6 fitment, looks used...vortech chargers dont come with that blue sleeve he's got on the intake, they come with blue protect plastic (like he has on the output), plus thats going for almost 700 quid (more now probably) do conversion on 1000 dollars...its cheaper to buy one and get it sent over LOLOL.
  10. see i knew there was a technical reason, cheers mightyvr6 . i'd hate for someone to buy that intending on fitting it to a vr6, only to find it wont fit....
  11. M8, in your how much does is it worth thread, you've indicated you got a dump valve for your charger. is this a 'dump', valve which shoves air to atmosphere before the tb (in the charge intake piping). Or is it a recirc valve which recircs the air back after the maf (into the intake pipes before the charger). if it's dump valve i'd be interested if you have any running problems, dumping metered air to atmosphere. (interested becuase dump valves sound so good)
  12. then 4motion says, get the head rebuilt. 60k is very early for chains.
  13. look at that charger very closely lads, its upside down . the blower outlet should be at the top, i dunno wtf is going on with those ebay pics, but that DEFINATELY isnt off a golf unless he's fiddled the pics by mistake. lol looks used too. its not a bad price tbh. but jay already has the supecharger, and he wants the ecu, mounting, pipes etc...so....no point really buying another charger. just to add, SOMEONE had better buy that, its a bargain!
  14. yes, i only used to get the induction growl under full throttle between above 2k. if you are on the motorway, try putting your foot down, i've had countless complements about the angry sound it gives.
  15. its better to wait until you hit 80k and get the head off, redo the tensioners and have the head recon'd its a bit early (100k is what stealth say) but, hell some engines wear more than others.
  16. cant wait to see it again craggsy m8. i'm moving back to london soon, so it'll be a while. Also sort ur wheels out .
  17. i want a foot rest can someone give me a partnumber?
  18. no, the dastek modifys the afm signal, what you have is an eeprom i think, that fit into a chip carrier in the ECU. the dastek splices into the ecu LOOM and tricks the engine into doing funny things .

    santa pod

v1, its noisier hehe, flows more air (so can handle engines with more hp, but doesnt handle the revs as well as yours (50k max, yours is 65k i think). never heard a v9, dunno how it sounds. my v1 will wake my neighbours up EASILY and can be heard about 50 meters away. speak to ultimatetune, they can get you the fitting kit for your charger from c2 motorsports (including their dual tensioner which is amazing!).
  20. hello, just complete this thread, one of the BIGGEST reasons ODB2 make more power than ODB1 is not the throttle body!! apparently the injectors on the vr6 are all on 1 side (front side) meaning that the fuel mixture has to travel further down the manifold to reach the rear bank of cylinders, whch can cause a poor lean mixture. in later odb2 models, vw rewrote the ecu code and redid the wiring, so that the rear bank of injectors would be coded up to fire 5% more fuel that the front bank, which took car of the mixture problem, hence resulting in a stoich mixture reaching the rear bank. (info fr
  21. lol, its funny i had no idea about that pic until i realsied it was a sharan engine bay and not a golf/corrado .
  22. tbh, the best way to remap a s/c vr6 is NOT piggy backing, the best way is to get a NEW eeprom from the manufacturer, and THEN if you need, tailor it to your car using the piggy back. Most odb2's are flashable, so some tuners can flash your EEPROM. costs 375 +vat for dastek inc labour (11 runs on r&r), im guessing about 45 for roller's time and another 40 for the remap...i dont see why it needs more than 2 runs, if its chipped properly.
