lol here was me trying to get you to stick with the mk3 . if you do change to a mk1, you must take all the mods cons from your mk3, door lights, boot lights, electric everything , or you'll just feel let down even in a nicely upholstered car, you dont want to be rolling up the windows to ensure no rain gets in. I would first check the build quality of your mk1, ensure its viable within your budget. Decide on a conversion, 1.8T might work, VR6 will work and you can supercharge it depending on bracket work, of course all your pipe work will have to be bespoke. If you stick a vr6 in the back then

the engine on the mk1 seems to be mounted quite far back, as far as balance goes i dont think its anything another vr6 in the back cant sort out . j5ke, is rob getting those wiseco forged pistons for you? i've thinking of this also...... btw you can get a v9 in that space, its smaller, just make up a custom bracket, problem your gonna get is getting the inlet piping in, possibly charger alignment, but PROCHARGER have some bracketry that will sort you out just fine i think.

s/c is progressive, and if you've got a decent suspension setup, then it should be fine, since you arent making any noticable boost from idle until 2500+rpms, of course if its wet, in first its easy to spin the wheels throughout 1,2,3rd...250bhp should be fine...with stock stuff. but im not sure about how it would go down with a high mileage engine, you need a well sealed gasket and decent piston rings to ensure you dont **** the engine...gearbox should be okay.

if your changing the exhaust mounts in the hope of holding a large back box high up into the car, remember that the exhaust pipes wont clear the rear valance.

yeah get a mk2 8v for town, or 16v for the glorious high rpm sound lol. still you could go for an mk2 auto ...hehe.

mk1 would probably do best, lightest, stripped it would have the best power to weight ratio, infact you could stick one more vr6 in the back, make 4 wheel drive lol....would like to see the rs4 take a bi-vr6 mk1 . Throw a few turbo's in there for fun. But that rs4 is so classy, god i love audi's. While i was doing my MSc at Cranfield Uni, i never saw those remote control car guys, so i dont know where they produced them from lol....considering its one of the smallest unis in england.

yep, my car has that metal sill squashed flat, the rear one is okay though...... ive had mine slip off the jack luckily, the damn thing fell sideways and it wasnt too high, so didnt get damaged. use a trolly jack under the cups near the jack points..

see if you can get a mk3 auto if you dont like traffic, you can get one dead cheap.

co sensor? didnt know golfs had one, i thought they only had an o2 sensor (lamda near the cat) excuse me if im wrong.

you must have had your injectors replaced, at some point becuase ive never heard of anything that high . nice driving, saving the neviroment and all.

he probably gets them from the skyline people, those people know value for money lol. if you're supercharged get extra cold 16v plugs...helps alot.

driving in a de-humidified enviroment is also more comfortable. when its raining outside, you feel nice inside

my n-reg highline is fine also, but it might be the aircon or somepeople use the re-circ to stop damp air getting in.

custom remap using a r&r at your nearest tuning center, generally using a dastek unichip on a naturally aspirated engine.

if you want to reset the ecu ive been told to leave it unpluged for 30 minutes to be safe and then plug it back in and leave you ignition on for 10-20 minutes to allow the throttlebody adaptation to complete, if you dont have vagcom. i don think it makes such a huge difference though i wouldnt have thought it neccary tbh.
