  1. Check all gear linkages, on top of the gearbox and in gear selector in the car. Some play can arise over time in the cable ends so might require replacing.
  2. You could buy either obd1/2 engine and just transfer your ancillaries over. My vr had the 16(?) pin diagnostics port, was obd1, square indicators, an coilpack. It was a late obd1. Yours sounds like an early obd2, do you have a 4 or 6 pin MAF - the plug on the black cylindrical thing before the plastic intake elbow? Oh, welcome to the site! Get some pics up fella!
  3. Have a look at Emerald mate, very easy to use, might be a bit cheaper than DTA too. MAF's are a pain, but MAP's are simple, and probably better suited for boost.
  4. Its a cam sprocket, but it looks like the center is missing, i think. It should look like the other 1. There are a few people breaking vr engine parts on the forum, worth a look. And if no-one comes up trumps with the bolts, vw or tps maybe your best bet.
  5. I'l have to wait till cars mot'd, but yeah would love to do some track days/hill climb this year.
  6. Thank you all very much, its a real honour! Dead chuffed!! :):)
  7. You need to know caliper mounting bolt spacings, diameter, disc pcd, what hose you'll need for caliper etc.
  8. Yep, so you'll clearly see a difference once its apart.
  9. Might be worth sorting out a cable and software, it will save you money in the long run because you won't have to pay someone to diagnose any issues you have. Good luck anyway
  10. Can you live map? Have you got the software for your ecu? Might be worth plugging it in and seeing whats actually going on. If the hall sender isn't working then it won't give a signal and you''l have a default setting showing. My emerald ecu, if a sender/sensor isn't working will either show a red figure, or a default figure, which won't change when the engine is revved.
  11. R32 and vr hubs have the same mounting for the calipers, but to run R32 brakes on vr hubs you'll need to space the caliper the same as if you were bolting on a 312mm brake conversion. And yes, the same pcd, and a min of 17" over R32 brakes, but some 17's won't fit.
  12. Why don't you take it apart? Take the compressor housing off, undo the nut on the end of the shaft holding the compressor wheel on, then undo the bolts holding the compressor back plate off, and remove to see the thrust bearing. Pull that off and see what sort of bearing is in there. Might be the only way do tell whats actually in there mate.
  13. I'l be going, possibly in mine, if not might tag a lift with someone?
  14. Katie wants to learn so i don't have to do it all for her! Put her name down please, it'll be a nice suprise for her
  15. I think Katies interested in this, but not sure what part really.
  16. Yep should do, just be careful of that spring in there!
  17. Wicked! TS love bus!!! LOL! Like the last piccy, the mk2 on the trailler and the massive tranny - Vanessa out in front. Good work guys, looking forward to seeing and possibly trying the accommodation.
  18. I'm not sure, but Katies vr does this, its bloody annoying. It goes up then just shoots back down before its reached the top.
  19. What w/g is it mate? I did similar to my turbosmart w/g, but they are bolted in 3 places, so you only get 120degree of movement.
  20. Hope your feeling better soon fella!
