  1. Should give it a fairly wide stance, so it should handle better too, aswell as clearing your shocks!
  2. Thats 1 amazing transformation, that colour looks wicked, really great work!
  3. Now wheres my 9" grinder....
  4. It could be something else. like bottom ball joint or anti-rollbar bush/drop link. Top bearings should last longer than 100miles!
  5. 16v golf gti's have had a bad decline in the last 15 years, sad really.
  6. This happened to Katies boot lock. I used a wood screw cut down (about 4 mm dia, 7or8mm long) which will fit into the center, well just off center in the small recess of the part in the second picture. I'll have a look tomorrow to see if i've got the to parts you've glued, and could make the other part if you want?
  7. Not much really, been busy with other projects, went to watch the tt, basically had a couple of weeks off fabricating. I've ordered a rollcage which should be here any day now, so this weekend i'm going to get cracking on! So hopefully more updates this weekend peeps. When my car is done, i think we should line up all the 'parky custom' motors for a piccy
  8. Love it, good looking car, but how the f.. did it just 'loose' a piston??
  9. Sounds interesting fella, i was thinking about making some parky custom mounts for the mk1, let us know how you get on.

    Sad farewell

Oh well mate, shame to see it leave, but the future is looking good!
  11. Sounds like a sensible plan, why not give it a go and post up on here how efficient it is. In theory it should be fine, as the tdi will only boost around that sort of figure. Where does it mount? Just a thought, but the vr front panel v's the tdi front panel might be slightly different/different size rad etc.
  12. If you had the timing out it would be further out then 2mm, say it would be near on 10mm out if you were 1 tooth out. Did you line the rear of the cams up, with the locking plate to hold them both? Check your plugs, always worth it after a rebuild, check to see if they are wet with fuel-if they are, bin them. They will never be right, and could cause you problems. I think the blue sender sends a signal to the ecu, the yellow is used for the dash, coolant run-on pump and fan run-on.
  13. I used 40mm2 (how do you make that '2' small as in squared?) and bought it from vehicle wiring products http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/VWP-onlinestore/home/homepage.php
  14. Bet it hasn't... Anyway' date=' a few more pics from that the last b/h weekend... Mk3 rear axle mounting points, jigged.. [img']http://i618.photobucket.com/albums/tt270/legvw/new%20project/003-4.jpg Then it was time to remove the mk1 axle mounts and find out how rotten it was! The inner sills on both sides needed repairing before anything happened! They needed to be flared towards the rear of the car to allow room for the rear subframe, and the trailing arm bolt. And then it was a case of joining all the bits together! This is as far as i got, like the new rims? But i fini
  15. I wouldn't bother upgrading the rears unless your 4wd, look at a 4mo or r32, they run 256mm rear discs. As bungy said, most of the braking is done up front in a fwd car.
  16. Have you got a 4mo thermo housing on your vr? Good progress though mate, won't be long now!
  17. Who? Me? Not a chance mate... Glad they're working well now! It was good to catch up on saturday mate.
  18. Yeah that the right way, i think there might even be an arrow on the discs? But i had them that way, i think i had the calipers the other way though.....
  19. So you think you'll be at billing in your corrado this year then Pete? Sounds like its been frustrating, but atleast it was all easy enough to fix!
