Magnecore leads are crap, I spent 6 months searching for a misfire at boost on my vrt it was only when the guy who does my mapping said change them as he has had quite a few cars in with problems due the leads so I changed my 6 month old magnecore leads for genuine and it cured it! I would never ever buy them or recommend them and just use genuine ones now.

I got my Ferrea valves from Nevloc performance. Mine are +1mm oversize inlet and standard size exhaust. I can't see any oversize listed for a vr6 but I got mine from them so fire them a quick email. http://www.nevlock-performance.co.uk/brands/ferrea.html?automerken=153&p=1

What gearbox do you plan to run? I would imagine all that low down grunt will soon eat a standard box.

Yeah it's good practice to put the engine to tdc as you will be removing the chain tensioner bolt and a cam sprocket so it will be easier to set the timing and make sure it's right again. The dizzy holes are offset so they will only locate when in the right place, if it won't slide in easily then don't force it just turn the rotar arm 180deg and it should slip on.

Take off the rocker cover and hold the cam steady with a set of adjustables or right size spanner where it's hex'ed on the actuall cam shaft. The bolt is a normal thread, lefty loosey righty tightey. It will be tight and awkward to get by yourself as 1 one hand will be pushing the other will be pulling! Not sure what the metal bit in the dizzy hole is, never seen it before. It's not of the brown bit on the bottom of the dizzy is it? The pronged bit that's bolted to cam sprocket that the dizzy locates into is notched and only fits into the sprocket 1 way. Edited with a picture of the possible m

Genuine vw ones are red, and are miles better than Magnecor leads!

One wire of the switch to the wotbox and Im pretty sure at the other one would just be an earth. But you may want to double check that with wotbox!
-
I would fit another brakelight switch onto the clutch pedal. The wotbox needs to know when the pedal is depressed.
-
Yep i will be there and spending most of the day on the strip. After last year being a disaster I once again I will be hoping to get into the 10sec 1/4 mile!

Doesn't the starter motor only have the positive lead on it?

So your building a mid engined vehicle that wants 200+bhp more from a non turbo'ed engine and you don't want a money pit!Ha ha, good luck with that!

I'm pretty sure they are still available from VW. Not cheap though.
