  1. Sorry I read the AR of the turbine as 0.82 as you must mean yours is a 0.63 0.63 is FAR to small for a ~3 litre engine, it will choke at high revs. the 0.82 is also too small if your going for numbers. I just looked through a collection of dyno sheets here and the closest one to your spec. made 360hp at 1 bar of boost.
  2. The engine has been put together with the wrong tensioner bolt - that has caused the upper tensioner blade to twist. The 4 cut out cam trigger is from an extremely late OBD2 and depends on ECU code. I have NEVER seen one in a Golf/Corrado. The upper tensioner blade and bolt from the AMY engine can be fitted to the earlier duplex chained engines.
  3. This is not the worst by far... If you look closely you can see the cut goes under my nail. This resulted in the flesh on the end of my finger turning into a flap, exposing the bone below.
  4. Where abouts are you? I have a non re-ground crank.
  5. No it doesnt! - loads of poor info coming out lately. It IS the same crank - 2.8 24v and 2.8/9 12v are the SAME crank.
  6. We can remove the immobiliser from your ECU if that is what it turns out to be. Easiest way to tell if it is the immobiliser is to read the fault codes from the ECU in the car. If you see the fault code "Engine start blocked by immobliser" then that is indeed the problem, If you don't then there is some other problem. I would hate for you to waste your money having the immobiliser turned off if it isn't the fault. 2/3 Seconds sounds too long for it to be an immobiliser fault, but you never know, thats why its best to check the faults codes before you presume something. Be careful who you cho
  7. An engine should only ever be bored enough to clean up any damage. Boring these engines gives ~no power gain. 3.1 will be ~85mm, not advisable.
  8. What is the reason for 'having' to bore the block?
  9. We have received no emails about any pulleys.
  10. No they are not! 12v specific parts part numbers begin 021 and 24v specific begin 022. The only thing they can possibly share is the lower chain parts. No upper chain parts from ANY 24v fit or work with any 12v.
  11. Sigh! The mechanical differences between a 2.8 and a real 2.9 are: Throttle Body Intake manifold Cams Exhaust manifold Bore diameter Compression.
  12. This is the vacuum supply to the brake servo. It should not be removed.
  13. What is the coding of the ECU set to? You can find this in VAG COM
  14. No performance gain here. As lambda 1 is lambda 1 which is what a narrow band sensor switches at. Its likely to do with temperature differences.
  15. What is the ECU code? sounds like a wiring problem.
  16. No, It will fail because it is with in 30cm of a seat/seat belt anchor point.
  17. The 2.9 intake works in conjunction with the 2.9 throttle body, cams and exhaust manifolds. It will do nothing alone.
  18. The CEL has no reason to come on. ABS is nothing to do with Engine. Do the brakes get applied when you are not pressing the brake pedal?
  19. Unplug the lambda probe, and see if it reacts the same.
