  1. If the ECU responds to being interrogated for error codes, then I doubt very much that it is damaged, how ever with an immo fault it should start and then cut off after a second. If anything is damaged I would look at the black immo box, these are sensitive.
  2. GTI one wont work. What is wrong with the ECU you have? does the engine run? run and then cut out?
  3. Thats utter nonsense. What ECU number do you have? 021 906 256?
  4. P0155 Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
  5. Its not because it is easier to map, It is because the ECU has ALOT more functionality over OBD1 and offers 100 times more safety and drivability.
  6. Ireland with out a doubt. People are nice, its easy to find cheap and nice places to stay. the scenery is breath taking, the roads are awesome, there is no speed cameras and few police. You can go from extremely busy Dublin to scenic connemara in under 2 hours. It will always remain in the top 5 places that I have visited, and I've been to a fair few.
  7. Gotta love an R32 turbo, which rolling road is the print out from?
  8. Don't go too high or they will just think you over rate your self. Any idea what the last person in that role was paid?
  9. I only have one set, the main dealer might have more, but they could be out of production by now.
  10. You wont be able to fabricate what I am talking about.
  11. Remember that it is an interview for both parties. So when they ask you if you have any questions make sure you ask some, if you don't ask anything or show an interest you wont be getting any further.
  12. I would check the continuity of pin 7 on the OBD connection to the K line pin on the ECU.
  13. Which earth pin did you use on the OBD connector?
  14. Then its not wired up correctly, or the drivers on your computer are not correct. Where have you wired pin 7 of the OBD2 connector to?
  15. Gethin - Before you go any further with the down pipe, put the oil return in place. Also if you mount the waste gate away from the manifold a touch, it makes this a lot easier.
  16. Out of any R32 and MK5 GTI, I'd have the MK5 GTI every day. The R32 uses ALOT more fuel than the GTI ever will. Put a good full exhaust and air filter on the GTI, We can get 270hp out of it, while still maintaining good fuel economy. The GTI is VERY easy to upgrade too, put a K04 turbo on it and remap it again and see well over 300hp, with the R32, you are stuck unless you have deep pockets. The MK5 will hold its money where as the R32's are losing money fast. ie no one wants them, and its only going to continue. For those that say the R32 handles better, its simply not true, the ONLY thing be
  17. Correct, we do not supply the parts that you require. What compression are the pistons? Dont waste your money getting the crank ground if it doesn't need it, or if it does, simply replace the crank with a known good item with stock size journals. This way the crank is stronger, you know the size of the journals are correct and can easily get bearing shells any time. Any engine machine shop (that is worth while) that can grind a crank will be able to provide you with shells. If they can't - Dont use the shop
  18. Check to see if the intake air temperature and engine coolant temperature sensors actually read real life values. Use vag com measuring blocks to do this.
