  1. some of the pipe under the clips does look a bit warn.....but its not loosing much water really
  2. cool, that pretty much confirms my thinking, a second opinion always makes me feel better, thanks again.
  3. cool yeah i changed it about 2 years ago, for a cheap one....so its probably that....im still unsure how it can get into the circular wiring block though. just sprays about i guess.
  4. ok an update not this...i have had it not vagcom...and basically the lambda isn't working. but i think i have found out why its popping and banging every now and then.....there is water getting into the main wiring connector above the aux water pump....so i clean it out....drive for about 50 miles, and it fills up again.....etc. so I'm thinking a leak from either the aux water pump or the pipes going into it.....but I'm still confused how its getting in and on such a regular basis....!
  5. Also just noticed a split in my pcv valve...could this be at fault...?
  6. Ok i have now disconnected the MAF....and there is no change, still does the same on start up...could this mean that its the MAF at fault..? it is now kicking up a fault - 00553 -Mass Flow Sensor.....which it wasn't before......surley if the MAF was at fault it would have shown this up before hand...!
  7. Thanks for the replys guys... As far as i know its always been a manual... But I will get the ecu read on a mates laptop just incase. Regarding the MAF, I replaced that about a year and a half ago... So would it fail that quickly...? Will unplug and check for any changes in the morning. Thanks again.
  8. Hi, i am having some poor running issues with my obd11 96 vr6. When i start the car, the revs rise to around 2000rpm, then suddenly drop off, causing the car to stall on cold start ups. and until warm it keeps trying to cut out when the revs drop low. It drives pretty much normally, but then sometimes it runs like a bag of nails, popping and banging almost making it impossible to drive. I've scanned the car, and its kicking up 2 codes. 00525 - Lambda sensor (but has been throwing this up for a long time before these problems) 00268 - Shift solenoid sensor. its this code that i find confusing
  9. Basically, i want to change my standard vr steering wheel for a mk5 golf wheel... is it possible, as i know u can retro fit a mk4 one with some small modifications, and if so, how do u go about it. Thanks in advance Stoo
  10. I know that this has been covered a bit before, but..i have just fitted MK4 polo rear handles to my 96 VR6...and guess wot, they dont work too well. they dont open the first time after it has been unlocked, unless u give it a little knock on the handle itself, once open u can shut and open the door as many times as u like, and its fine...until it is locked and unlocked again..then it needs the knock on the handle once more. I know that you sometimes have to bend a rod to get them working sometimes, so can anybody tell me which rod i need to bend, where abouts and by how much. Any help will be
  11. cool...cheers buddy, that might be the best bet
  12. I have noticed that when some people fit performance induction kits and induction pipe, that they do away with some of the breathers and sensors that go between the rocker cover breather and the induction pipe.....so my question is...as im fitting a new induction kit, and trying to tidy up my engine bay....wot exactly can i do with out, and how is it achievable to loose some sensors without effecting the performance of the engine. Thanks in advance. Stoo
  13. mine is a cheapish one, so maybe it doesnt read that bit.....i have a mate with Vag com, so will give it another try with that. Cheers mate
  14. does it need to be with Vag com....as i have a hand held code reader and it brings up no faults
  15. Hi Guys....having a bit of trouble with my climatronic....as when i first turn on my ignition, the display flashes at me a load of rubbish...i have been told that this indicates a fault. After about ten seconds it stops and looks like normal, and seems to work ok. Does anybody have any idea wot this might be, and how to possibly fix it. Cheers
