  1. Its not possible for a recirc valve to be too big, with in reason. Too smaller valve with a big turbo/boost will cause surge. Sounds like it is not sealing or reacting fast enough. Running leaner in idle - the only explanation for this is air leak post MAF. Are you sure the valve is air tight?

  8. The immo black box has died, recoding the black box and ECU will likely fix it for one start and then will need doing again. This is VERY Common these days.
  9. The fuel will break down the oil and it will loose most of it lubricating properties. This will destroy the bearings in the bottom end if used like this.
  10. loosen them all off and torque one cap up, can you turn the engine then? Sounds like at least one cap is on round the wrong way or the crank it out of shape.

Here is how it is done: (28/2)*(28/2)*3.14159 = 615.752 square mm (30/2)*(30/2)*3.14159 = 706.858 square mm Add together 615.752 and 706.858 = 1322.61 square mm, this is for one side of the caliper So Double 1322.61 = 2645.22 square mm total. take this 2645.22 and divide it by pi (3.14159) = 842 Now take the square root of 842 = 29.02mm radius of effective single piston. Double 29.02 to get effective single piston diamater = 58.04mm From memory, a 288/312 caliper has a 54mm diameter piston. I will let you draw your own conclusion from
  12. That damage on those shells was CAUSED by the ferrous metal in the oil. The rest of the big ends will be the same, as will the mains and the thrust washers.
  13. Doesn't matter which way you cut it, through the diameter or along its length, both will reveal both sides of the filter, adn allow you to see how far the metal pieces got. Think of what an engine does to oil, it literally smashes upon it constantly. Think about what pieces of metal would become after a period of time. Then think about where these even smaller places can make their way into.
  14. The oil filter you pictured, do you still have it? If so cut it in half and have a look how far the metal parts got.
  15. I think that engine has had tensioner failure to the point the chain wore through the 2 pins that hold the lower guide. Someone then changed the tensioners and left the shrapnel in the sump. The chain and the pins are ferrous. The oil filter you pictured, do you still have it? If so cut it in half and have a look how far the metal parts got. I think the tiny parts of metal have gotten around the entire oil path of the engine, causing your noise.

  17. Either it doesnt matter. Basic settings is not the right thing to use.
  18. What is in measure block 32 after a good drive?
  19. Who ever changed the guides didn't have the thought or care to check in the sump for the missing parts.
