  1. Sorry have been away for a while. Thanks for the info, well most of the engine got stolen out of my garage last year am just replacing it so no need to bore it now, as cylinder walls are sound, need to still get pistons tho. Thankfully the turbo was not with it. Its got the hotside from the evo on it, internal wastegate etc. Was going to stick with that as made a manifold and downpipe for a TD05 on my 1.8t but it wasn't easy. So will change it the divided T4, much easier to fabricate. I hope lol
  2. Some good info cheers. Still cant decide between charge cooler or a intercooler, guess will depend on space in the bay and the easiest to sort out, will see when fitting the engine. Ive got the later 24v so I guess better ecu for management. As said I agree and reckon you should go for the 1.06, like you say its nearly a 3l and with a proper manifold, downpipe and exhaust can reduce the lag. Ive got the GTX3582r it ran 700bhp on a evo and can produce more. Dont know what the lag was I'm sure a fair bit on the evo but on a 3l with the right intake, manifolds, down pipe and exhaust the lag can b
  3. Your going to see good power from it it just depends on your goals? Im in the same boat as you mate have bought a gt35, cleared me out for now! will be getting the rest of the bits like you have hopefully soon. Would like to know some of the info as well. How come your going to go stand alone? Have been told the the standard ecu can be mapped for a turbo no problem? Also was thinking about getting a charge cooler look good and they seem to be the one in the US but as well as the tank do you need to have a cooler/radiator as well for the water, just seems more to go wrong and not really b
  4. Have either of you other guys have a crank as matty said his isnt in good enough condition to sell, need one asap pls
  5. Can someone let me know how much you want pls as need one asap. Cheers
  6. If you could pm me a price ill defo have one off someone, thanks
  7. That would be brilliant as I didnt really want to use a reground one or strip down that other engine and couldnt find any others, I'm in Bedford
  8. This http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VR6-12v-Reground-Crankshaft-AAA-ABV-Corrado-Golf-Passat-Galaxy-/300899153692?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item460efcb71c or this, is it the same? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Galaxy-MK2-2-8-V6-24-Valve-MK4-Golf-Bora-60k-engine-Breaking-salvage-/261208701347?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cd14079a3 advice pls
  9. No it doesnt! - loads of poor info coming out lately. It IS the same crank - 2.8 24v and 2.8/9 12v are the SAME crank. Thanks for confirming
  10. Ok cheers, damm was hoping that was problem sorted. There was one 24v crank I could find cheap but it spun a bearing so needs to be ground. Is that ok on these cranks, would it be ok for high power even with the right bearings to suit the grinding?
  11. Ok cheers so not so good then? How low as im going to turbo the engine so would have to lower compression anyways.
  12. I need a new crankshaft for my aue but cannot find one anywhere but have seen a 12v one. Have read that they are the same and can be fitted just need to change the trigger wheel to the 24v one. Can anyone comfirm this is correct and it does fit? Thanks
  13. I was wondering whether that was a bit much. Ive got a Garrett GTX 3582r turbo which im going to fit to the engine so any extra displacement will help reduce the lag. It has the twin scroll evo hotside so will make a mani to suit to help as well. So whats the maximum do you think it can be bored out to?
  14. Have been told on vortex that it can be bored out to a 3.1l? Is that ok cant the block take it especially if I'm going to turbo it?
