    Aux water pump, does it whine after the engine has been ran?? I let mine run by accident when i changed the coolant a while back, it was noisy for a while but has been fine since

    I agree with you on the Recaro thing mate, its the same as the Corrado Storm they never came with them Either and personally i think that was a wrong move by VWs marketing dept. I happen to like the highline alot, mulberry ones especially, but the thing that i despise about them is the purple seats, black would have been so much nicer

    I made the swap in late 2003 and havent regretted it, except i went from a Corrado to a Golf, and i would never have another Corrado!! The build quality doesnt exist, no room inside,model specific trim parts cost the earth and to be honest IMO they are HUGELY overrated!! I have ran two Golf VR6s since the Corrado VR6 and have had less problems with both cars in almost 4 years than i did with the Corrado in 8 months. Dynamically the Corrado may have the edge over the Golf but lets face it there are very few totally standard examples of either cars left and a well set up Golf will match a well

    No a 10MM spanner will suffice. From memory which is vague, the rad comes out from the front so bumper and crashbar etc needs to be removed

    As far as i know there is only one top tensioner available, perhaps its not building up pressure??

    As Justin says its a term that gets used a little and TBH its highline spec anyway. I dont see what the big deal with a highline is personally, its the same for the hallowed Coraddo storm, its merely badge engineering, after all there are plenty other better specced non highline Golfs roaming these streets!!

    I have a milltek with powerflow tips, as the old single oval tip looked pants!! As for wheels dont buy LMs as we cant have 3 VR6s in the same city running them, I hopefully get mine on saturday

    Its on the side of the throttle body, assuming that this is an early OBD1 engine??

    I agree with Justin, if not they may be Hells magic colours taillights, in black. Which are basically slightly darker than standard and are from the same range as the MK4 look, M3 look and the all red taillights

    This could be something as simple as leads, coilpack. dizzy cap or rotor arm but i presume you have changed all this?? This problem reminds me of my mate VR6 a few yeras back and after numerous attemps from local specialists, and i say specialists loosely, he took the car to Dubsport who found it out to be the throttle poition sensor was either faulty or needed re setting up, i cant remember which but after that was done the car drove perfectly

    Congratulations on the new car, but bad news on the tapping, could be one of two things the chains but thats more of a grumbling noise they make or as i suspect its a hydraulic lifter (tappet) thats not filling up as it should, had this in my Corrado VR6 a few years back and it drove me insane.

    MK3.5 mirrors aint stubby mate they are normal mark4 sized mirrors but on mk3 cabrilet base plates. The 3.5 "jap spec" are the stubby versions, which are the nicest of the two. Slight mods to fit but a worthwhile but could prove expensive upgarde. You could get Projectzwos.............. If you can find some.

    I thought i seen Leo with it. Sold the last car back to the guy i bought it from as he missed it, i much prefer the current car. Well any info you need just drop me a PM as i have had a fair few VR6s now so i will hopefully have an answer.

    I have tried to be "different" but in a subtle way as i dont like nothing too "in your face" and as there are several nice mk3s up our way (Rich SEs) being one i was trying to be a little more unique, hence the front and rear end mods. Cheers mate but those mirrors will NEVER be removed unless they have to be! LOL I will be at Inters so will see you all (hopefully) then.

    Hey i gather this is Owen that had the Cupra R Ibiza?? I have a milltek with a BMC on my car, although i had a panel filter in my old Golf there is very little difference. Personally id steer clear of "open cone" filters such as Ram Airs, K&N etc as these tend to heat soak and lose you power. If you need any more info just gimme a shout Martin

    No siree sir, they sell second hand for between 3 and 500 quid a set, and the last batch is exactly that, they will NEVER be made again. I was fortunate enough to grab one of those last ten sets

    The 7 hour drive was worth it Nick, the weekend was superb!! Only Inters and E38 to go now!! Cheers for the positive feedback guys, was a brave decision changing the car so much
