    If it has an immobiliser fault it will likely be showing as an intermittent fault, act on this and im 99% certain it will cure the fault

    I have been stripping the highline down today and the Keyfob for the conlog alarm/immobiliser has became misplaced and I want to get it running Now I've had the fuse box out and the wires seem to be plugged in rather than soldered like I've seen on other alarms, so does anyone know how to bypass it, obviously a PM with the relevant info would be spot on rather than a reply here Hope someone can help Cheers Martin

    I sold mine last year, after having VR6s since 2003, and replaced it with an R32, biggest mistake ever, most disappointing 15k i ever spent, it wasnt particularly quick, was silly thirsty and on the face of it rather boring Replaced it with a GTi Anniversary TDi, cos i bought a flat, that was not bad, a better all round car than the R32 I have just bough with the girlfriend a 2004 BMW M3, similar money to an R32 MK5 and far more car for the money So thats what id replace a VR6 with OR a Mini JCW but a supercharged one , Girlfriend traded hers in against the BMW and its a car i truly miss, qu

    Is your power at the fly 180bhp?? and the wheel figure 166?? As its not really clear If the fly figure is 166 id get the car checked over and fault codes read as that seems very low

    Well i can judge from experience with a my old MK4 R32 and my mates stripped out schrick manifold and breathed on 2.9 VR6 Golf track car (the engine is from a CVR6 BTW) And from a standing start i pulled about 3 cars by 60mph and i kept pulling, bearing in mind i had to Revo map and fit a Carbonio and Milltek to beat my mates MK5 R32 it kinda puts the original point into perspective, and as Jay rightly points out there is not a hope in hell a VR6 with cams etc will keep up, Hell my mk4 anni diesel has shown a good pulling VR6 Golf a clean pair of heels to 60mph

    Its a bit unfair to brand the mk3 like that IMO, the mk1 i have never really been a cult follower of, and i cant understand why everyone raves about them being the best GTi ever, waken up, they were in 1976 but now they are just a bendy golf with shit brakes, as for the mk2, i had one as a winter car and hated it, it was forever breaking down and generally a overrated car IMO, Themk3 however was a huge leap forward from the mk2, far superior comfort and build quality, the styling was criticised as was the soggy handling, but it was two areas that waseasily rectified, unfortunately the MK3 for

    Its unfortunate we missed out on a club display, had a great one last year both indoors and out, unfortunately i do not have a car worthy of either display with the club for this year, as its missing two cylinders and is diesel. Still a nicer alternative to an R32 tho, well it will be nest week

    I looked to do this in my ever evolving mk3 before i sold it as personally im a huge fan of the TT dash swap, Unfortunately after spending nigh on 150 quid at the bar last year at Ultimate Dubs trying to convince Jay Renshaw that it was a good idea to do another, i gave up. Harsh reality in a mk3 to get it in and working as it should in the TT its a MSSIVE mount of work, and something that was beyond my own capabilities

    My mate wanted to do hillclimbing in his, truth of the matter is, the VR6 without spending big££££s on it just isnt suitable, its too lazy and heavy to be competitive, there is one up here albeit a mk2 vr6 with a schrick etc and it struggles against 106 rallyes etc

    Now this is from a very vague memory, there are two screws holding on the bonnet latch lever, and i think there is one on the plastuc surrounding it, and the big bung type thing in the throttle pedal area needs to come out too

    I was going to go down this route with my mk3 and TBH be prepared to spend and spend ALOT. There are a few ways you could do it, standalone management or factory management, but factory management requires clocks, keys ignition barrel FBW throttle pedal ecu and complete wiring loom. Standalone speak to storm developments, they have done a few. Yes the 5 speed VR6 box bolts up to the R32 block, but you need a vr6 clutch and flywheel assembly too. The R32 box is useless as its 4 WD
