  1. Little things...... ..... little Minds! Thats soooooo last Year, now @153k, wanna see what it does at 200k!
  2. Always wondered how those railings get bent overnight...... The kind of bloke that drives a TT, he was probably checking his hair in the mirror! Hair dresser car innit!
  3. you pay 4X as much as me for insurance!Gutted for ya!! Luke, I think most of us been there and had a few points too! 13pts 2 X IN10, plus a Roll, all long gone now! I hate to say it, but 17 is too young to be driving! I got my Licence at 17 and I had no regard for any driving Laws. I remember buying a Metro at the Auction for £100 and off I went! No tax no Insurance! I done it for months, its all far too easy, and once you done it once its even easier, because you know what to avoid, so its easy to slip into being a lifetime criminal driver. I got mine Licence back and I need it for work now
  4. 650 on mine, think thats about normal. 600-700rmp with a hot standard engine.
  5. Easy job, remove the plastic covers on top of the engine, then off you go! What is in place of the original? Why they remove it?
  6. Stuff the Billions of miles VW recommend, mine gets changed at least every 10k, the tappets get so noisy and it just generally runs and sounds poop! Hydrolic tappets need nice clean oil me thinks!
  7. Lot of prangs at the moment, don`t know where peoples minds are!!! Mine was in for repair, had a Corsa, also not nice! No guts till 1k before the redline, and started getting hot at 90, really harsh suspension, proper bone shaker! Good luck with the repairs!
  8. Why would all your tappets fail at the same time? Surely if they all started sticking open you would have hit them with the pistons? Never say never, but every time a VR fails, itfails for something that is a common problem. Tappets although they get noisy are not something that generallt fail. Why do you think there is no compresssion? Its not something you can just tell by listening to it. It is more likely that you are missing one of the primary components of running- such as Fuel or Spark or one of these is not being delivered correctly. IMO, which is by no means an expert opinion. My firs
  9. There goes another License!!!
  10. Me thinks you still gonna have a problem after new tappets..........
  11. I thought it was the ignition switch failing that caused that problem?
  12. A colleague has NAVMAN, same one as that, it works well, but he does not update his due to a lack of Internet (Can you believe that!!!?), so it turned us wrong once or twice, but apart from that its good! Also touch screens suck, I got normal sized fingers and I cant get them to do what I want!
  13. Are they the correct speed rating for your car? My ring would have clenched right up when that one went at 70mph!!!
  14. We need a Chav Cull! There is not enough Alcohol in the World to make the BEer Goggles thick enough to turn them into Brittney Spears(Ok bad comparison, early Brittney!) !!
  15. Handbrake switch? Also what colour is the Pad wear light? Orange or red?
  16. I would guess at the thermostat, but it seems a bit odd that it does not overheat constantly if it was, which fan speed runs? Maybe the fan is not cutting in on the first switch soeed? May be worth testing that first?
  17. Oil light is well below the minimum line!!
  18. I bled mine using a One man bleeding kit that uses pressure from a spare tyre, worked really well, let the tyre down first though, only needs a few PSI, else it pisses out fluid everywhere!!!
  19. Rev limit is 6.4k on non modified VR6 me thinks....
  20. Have you got some advice or reviews to offer reference Sat Nav or Camera detectors? I am interested in both, ideally I would like Sat Nav, but depending on cost would settle for a clean Licence. NavMan IC320 is looking good for the price, but I am open to suggestions. Do they still sell the detectors that are legal to buy, but illegal to use?
  21. Second the Halfords statement, inspect the Draper stuff though, I had a 1/4 Drive socket set and broke it within the week, if your budget will stretch you should give Teng Tools, or Facom a try, both have lifetime warranties, and I have not broken anything yet in five years daily use at work! Lost a few bits, but not broken any! Most likely to break is the Ratchet, so listen for a nice smooth action, and take a bolt with you and try its fit, as poor quality ones tend to be loose and wiggle a bit on the head. Also, for the Plugs, you will need a 3/8 Drive as I struggle to get my 1/2 Drive throu
  22. Great that helps, could not see a lot in the dark with Torch, creates too many shadows! Will confirm its the pump today.
