  1. I have the same problem that was described here. Although I cant see a bleed nipple anywhere near the brake fluid resevior or on the MBC - Can anyone helo ?
  2. ANyone know where and IF the Master Brake Cyclinder has a bleed nipple ? 95/ODB-1
  3. Can anyone tell me why during the ABS pump bleed procedure you need to have the car lifted off the ground. See below from VAGCOM site :- "Vehicle must on a lift or safe jack stands with no wheels touching the ground"
  4. Hi. My local garage replaced this for me to try and fix a very stuborn sensor fault! - It seemed to work although I have a question about bleeding the pump - the garage didnt do this. Should this be done before or after bleeding the brakes at the callipers ? Or doesnt it not matter. Also, could someone confirm the order to bleed. I saw on a forums NSR, OSR, NSF, OSF - but my haynes manual tells me to start on Right Rear which I thought was OSR. Thanks in advance.
  5. :-) Same problem 3 years later. And I must admit kit smacking the disk with the hammer was good fun - Thanks Shmuckbucket
  6. How did you diagnose it ? Put the bearing on the axal and wiggle it about ?
  7. >> Who fitted the new bearings? I did From memory I followed the haynes manual. I tightened the nut up just by hand and the washer could be moved a little with a srew driver. I then put the lockign cage and split pin in.... You think maybe its too loose ?
  8. >> Has the wheel bearing play been adjusted correctly? I didnt think the bearings on the Vr6 could be adjusted ?
  9. >> larger wheel hub size OK, I'm new to all this :-) Itsnt the wheel hub just the disc ? - I have just installed the new disk and bolted the wheel on - Even if it isnt this i'd like to understand it. Is there an easy way to check if its the bush or beary. Actually, when i first tried to get this car through the local Isle of Man it failed because of a "Wheel Bearing" - the bearnig has now been changed twice so I'm thinking its somthing else and this was the original problem
  10. Hi - I have no idea about what they are. Can you explain ? Are you saying i should have some plastic thing which should be pushed into the disc where the wheel bolts on ? - It does feel like the play is caused by the nroad wheel not being bolted on properly although its proper tight.
  11. After changing the rear disc's / pads and bearing i gave the wheel a rock and noticed there is a bit of play. It seems the play is on the road wheel itself and not the bearing (The disk doesnt move) Is this common ? - The wheel was put on by the prev owner, its a 205/40/17
  12. I see that this conversation is for the front brakes. Anyone know what the differences are if I wanted to do the rear too ?
  13. I'm in the Isle of Man, but I found the following page which has helped me get hold of the parts. from a FORD dealer :-) haha http://www.s2-audi.co.uk/tech_articles/brakes/brakes.htm
  14. Does anyone know where I can get a caliper pin for the rear lucas calliper. I;ve snaped the head of the caliper pin bolt into the pin. Dealer ses it comes with the caliper mount which is 60 quid, which I feel a bit hard of paying for a new pin. Thks
  15. Can anyone tell me where the pressure is on the Calliper. Is it on the Calliper (very difficult to remove) mounting bolts or the calliper pin bolts ? Which one should be tightened up the most ? (what is the torque for each)
