When I got my S4 I did weeks of research into exhausts and found as a rule of thumb N/A cars go 1/4 inch bigger dia N/A converted to F/I, 1/2 inch bigger or if going boost mad recalculate according to intake FI dependant on how much suck it's got but then the tricky stuff starts, with silencer size, shape and construction and the effects on the speed of the escaping gases and accoustics.   10. Generally alarms have a battery backup, which on yours wouldve discharged over the time the battery was dead. I'm wondering if the old battery backup has failed due to being flat for so long and now won't take a charge. The alarm/ immob may see this as an attempt to bypass it and just locks down? The other possibility is that the alarm has lost it's coding through being flat, so doesn't take notice of the remote. Think it may be a job for a proper alarm installer, maybe even a new alarm. Has the sounder got any on/ off switches or a reset button on it? May be worth flipping them Mine had a VW

  15. Better of with a 2.7TT S4 over an R32. 4x4 and upto 315bhp quite easily. Start fitting downpipes and RS6 turbos and your creeping towards supercar territory
  16. It's needed, it gives the incoming air a certain flow rate and straightens it, which the ECU is set up for. Removing it causes false MAF readings

  19. I'm with Ben, either cracked or the o-ring seal has rotted other possibility on that side of the engine is the heat exchanger, is the coolant looking oily?
  20. I bet it's fake, it's not in a part numbered bag, no part number quoted etc if it was gen and you were asking that much, if you had all the details you would 100% post it.
  21. arch pulling, rolling and then respraying. 8.5 on the rear is easy with custom spacers and no arch mods. 9 would be the same with the right tyre, you'd just about squeeze them on. 10s are fiddly because of the fuel filler pipe inside the wheel arch.
  22. VRs spoil you. When I was looking around for a change, very little seemed to be worth changing for. Always wanted an Escort Cosworth, but old and not that special anymore. Imprezas always failed to impress when I've driven them. Wouldn't consider anything less than 6 cylinders, even Audi B5 S4's as standard didn't cut it and needed a lot spent on them to be what I wanted. Just shows how good VR's are, especially when turbo'd or supercharged
