going by the shape of the rocker cover on the left side, and the manifold, i'm pretty damn sure that is a 24v one.. only way to find out for sure is to get the engine code and number off of it.
I was shown the price on the computer in VW as £79+VAT. that is because for a golf it comes with the air intake pipe!! on a sharan it is a separate item, hence much cheaper!! :-p
i would be VERY careful of that. a vr6 can overheat if full with just water - it NEEDS some antifreeze/coolant to keep cool not talking about long journeys or driving the car hard.... tbh i didnt notice any unusual temps coolio - as long as you didn't go far and kept an eye on the temps i'm sure it will be fine.. just a heads up though mainly for anyone else reading this
