  1. mines a 94m with new coilpack.had intermittent flat acceleration 1-3k and a bit of 'kick back' when on/off throttle any revs.had it on vag com-crank position sensor fault or hall sender G40 negative to earth.it is as behind the c/pack as ACF explains.after i cleaned it it's been like ULTRA responsive in any gear@ any revs.let me rephrase that-IT'S FUCKING ACE!!!!!!
  2. baz780:disconnect battery + terminal for safety.remove leads from coilpack.take off the leads shrouding[star bolts x3].remove the coilpack from the side of the block[allen bolts x4].unclip the the coilpack plug in.the hall sender will be behind the coilpack.unplug the hall sender and remove x1 allen bolt.withdraw the sensor carefully and clean any oil deposits/gunk from it[elect. contact cleaner].refit in reverse.then this is the best bit........GO FOR A DRIVE.
  3. decided to inspect the condition of hall sender this morning[behind coilpack,in the side of the block].gunked with oil, cleaned it with elect. contact spray and re-inserted.went for a drive-f***************ck me.what a difference it made.now pull/revs like it is chipped.only cleaned it to see if it improved the 'dead' acceleration 1-2k revs in any gear and that little bit of kick back i got when feathering the throttle.my faith in the vr has been re-installed,very pleased.hope this throws light onto other members problems. !amazed !amazed

  14. it says 109 on it.the fuel pump says 167 on it?for the sake of 15 quid from the stealer it rules out one possibility.when mine was non starting with similiar probs it would bump every time.
  15. in the fuse box.above all the blade fuses.109 is the voltage stabiliser relay.
  16. also had it on vag com.sporadic fault at hall sender-g40. open/short circuit to positive. code 00515 030. the c/pack is new on my 94m vr,hope this helps!
  17. could be ign. switch.check 109 relay for cracks around the soldered joints with the casing[common vw/audi fault].clean crank sensor plug in.connections to starter motor.had similiar probs.the above cured it.also paid 90quid for a new starter[10 year old vr].
  18. took 109 relay casing off.found a hairline crack around the soldered joint.been informed by auto elect. that this can cause non starting and missing.part of the loop not gettingthe signal to hall sender to spark when running/starting.also WD40 crank sensor.if your car won't start on the key,but will bump you are bypassing all the above.the ecu does not know the rest position[its lost its position]so it does not send the signal.a bit long winded but it cured my problems!
  19. six:one well sorted and clean vw.not envious!
  20. not using beru/vw leads.have noticed if you blip throttle and then back off straight away-tend to get that hesitance.pinned this down to leads not attached to plugs correctly[arcing test at night].hope this helps!

  25. if it won't bump, and if you 12v the pump directly and it doesn't work its relay,PUMP or wiring.RELAY 167 FUEL PUMP,109 voltage stab. new 109 relay, starter motor sorted my problem when HALLSENDER fault was diagnosed @ VW.Hall sender fault comes up as a generalisation, its all part of a loop.
