maybe hall sensor?this is in the coilpack that sends the signal to spark.worth checking the wiring and earth connections.

On morning start-ups i get a whiff of petrol.is this because of a split idle stabilizer breather?[the bog roll shaped thingy as refered to by mad monkee].any advice would be appreciated!CHEERS in advance.been on vag com,no faults detected.

had a stutter constant,112k.changed heater matrix hose that feeds top of block and slender pipe to intake system-now spot on![as it was leaking].

2 days ago burst the hose that goes from the heater matrix to the top of the block via a moulded valve-B******!water everywhere!replaced it from vw at 38 quid.must av been contributing to irregular running for ages[slight judder now and then].fiddly to fit,but now running perfect!wish i had the time to go to INTERS even if it's pissing it down!can't wait for the October RR.

Corrado vr6 tickled my fancy to start with,190bhp and crisp handling-alledgedley!knew panels were expensive and inferior build.'run-in' golf vr6 had better reputation although basic handling.OBD2 golf seem to show good rr figures with 100k.wouldn't swap my golf for owt,well maybe a R32!

using Splitfire leads,good blue spark.vw ones seem flimsy,and at 20 quid each they are a rip off.splitfires cost me a bargin price of 50quid for 6.I reckon a functional coilpack,new plugs and decent leads and you'll see your standard BHP figures increase on the rollers.

I have a glitch that may be related to the isv?when the engine is cold if I blip the go pedal,then ease of instantly there seems to be a slight judder.If I blip the go pedal again response is crisp/how is should be.IS it the isv/throttle body/all the fuel intake system needs a good fettle?had it on vag com with no faults registered. can anybody help with some advice,cheers in advance!

Is the EVO much much better than the VR6;power,drivability,performance-when both in standard form? When the VR6 has been:1.s/c 2.turboed 3.exhaust,chip,cams,schrick inlet manifold. Does the evo come out on top on the twisties,straight line speed,top end power?

deanagraham,good point.you've got to spend 10 grand plus to match the vr6 ,on a new motor.chuck the difference at the vr and you've got a real mean machine!

need some info please! schrick manifold; bhp gain 10+? miltek exhaust;bhp gain 5+? superchip;bhp gain 10-15+? performance air filter:bhp 3+? costs involved to perform these mods?
