  2. try and post it in the pst...so i can see whats wrong (by clicking on the quote button). alsom easier to just edit the post if it dont work, rather than make a new post. yeah, i pay £580 fully comp. would've been £500 if i could've paid it in one go (finances didn't allow at time) [ Edited Wed Jun 23 2004, 05:57PM ]
  3. have to be legal, and legal to use (instead of a sticker) when i go to germany in two months. am edging towards two.

    VR6 Vs BMW M3

yep, i'd have a yellow one! i can't stand boring, dull colours. i love the way my red vr6 stands out sooo much more than the usual boring coloured ones (no offence), it looks faster than the rest when its standing still! dunno why i'm talkin about M3's...scooby for me next (either a '99 RB5, or if i have loadsa money a brand new shape WR1 (mainly for the adjustable diff) [ Edited Wed Jun 23 2004, 12:14PM ]
  9. will probably be fine to use any golf mkIII rear window motor...i don't imagine that they are year/model specific. put a google or yell.com search in for breakers, then get on the phone.
  10. well, the golf is a big car...and not the stiffest in the world (chassis wise)!
  11. the actual bushes cost £40 each. i'd say at least two hours labour, probably £100 an hour knowing vw! a mate has polysport on his mkII and its o.e. levels of comfort! shame they don't do them for mkIII.
  12. caterham 7 (unsure what engine, think it was a 1600 k series), formula first (1.6 8v xr2 engine with a few mods, so about 100bhp, but only 400kgs), formula ford zetec (1.8 16v zetec engine, about 150-160bhp, 400kgs, hewland straight cut 'box), renault clio cup racer (2.0 16v, 182bhp, 6 speed sequential, 900kgs), then a few mildly modded race school training cars (pug 306 gti-6, proton satria gti, mondeo v6 skid car, cliio 1.6 16v sport). any open topped car feels 100 times quicker than a closed car, all proper race cars are really hard work to drive, esecially the fford with no syncro's (i wen

    VR6 Vs BMW M3

nope...just no points and 5 yrs ncd. if i wasn't payin it monthly, and didn't protect my ncd, it'd be £500
  14. i went from a 1.2 punto, and the vr6 seemed failry quick...but you have to keep it over 4k rpms. still slower than the race cars i've driven though! lol

    VR6 Vs BMW M3

    i'm 23 and i only pay £590 FC on my vr6.
  16. ok, just reading up...so will be updating this post as sson as i learn somethin new. for starters, the vr6 has a three speed fan (two fans tho, linked as said already), the third speed is for when the engine has just been switched off...to control under bonnet temps. crikey...this is seriously complicated! i'm too tired to understand now, but pete, check you mail. VR6 Vs BMW M3

unfortunatly a schrik wont add much to the resale value of the car, unless you're very lucky. be bettter to sell the schrik seperatly.
  19. its not hard t remove the sump i'd have thought...but i too wouldn't know what a worn out bearing would look like! think they would be scored. i'm surprised vince couldn't distinguish between the noise coming from the top of bottom of the engine!
  20. you know what might be interesting...if you went and had a go in a gti now, i you'd suddenly realise how slow they are in comparison to the vr6. (its like light bulbs...when you get an uprated set you don't notice the difference, but then if you go back to your previous ones you feel blind! lol)

    VR6 Vs BMW M3

yep, i'd have thought so. R32 isn't really much quicker than a vr6.
