  2. Yep them cheap ones will you do, then just practice on speaker wire until you feel confident. if you can wait till im next in birmingham i would do it for you

  4. I was planning it, so i would definitely be up for a road trip
  5. The trick is to not let these little niggling issues get you down, we all have them, especially with VRT's. you just have to tackle each issue as it comes! for the turbo you can just turn it 180 degress on the manifold? and as tony said you could mount it where the old pump is?
  6. Or if you an idea of how and where the pipes fitted you could just make some out of copper piping and a pipe flarer?
  7. have you got the originals that came of the car? If you have take them to your nearest engineering firm or the like and they should be able to make something up for you.
  8. Stock up on clothes pegs by the sounds of it.
  9. Oh right, I cant keep up with what engines you've got! is that just the block? how much would you want?
  10. I was looking at that, but i thought that was a 24v block?
  11. Ok thanks for the info, i'll get them when ive sorted my house out.
  12. Hi, This has probably been covered before, but I'm too tired to trawl through pages! basically when I save up enough pocket money I'm going to be ordering me some new shiny bigger pistons, and I need to know what compression ratio to choosefor turbo application. they will be 83mm pistons, standard stroke. I can't remember the details of the turbo, I think either GT30 or 35 (The one Paul had? ) the pistons I am looking at are 8.0:1, or i could get 8.5 or 9:1? Is it a matter of how much boost i will be running? Becuase Im really not too sure at the moment! Thanks for any help! Dave
  13. When you take boxes out of an exhaust, you lose back pressure in the engine, so you will lose a bit of torque (And messing with the fueling a bit, but negligable really) which could be the reason, but if you are going turbo, then the issue will soon be fixed
  14. I'd just make one mate, get some SS in the diameter you want, if you can't weld, then take your old exhaust off, take it to a fabricator and get them to match it
  15. Believe me mate, ive searched! is there anyone local that could lend you one?
  16. If you can get your hands on a bently manual, thats got every wiring diagram you'll ever need in there!
  17. Good info there! Although too late for numbers, it reminds if being back at college! haha
  18. The pipe that goes from the throttle body to the air filter, there is a little pipe as standard that goes from this big pipe to the rocker cover. The catch can basically replaces this small pipe.
  19. Have you bled the water system?
