Are you sure it's not the water pump as they are renound for being noisy -
i dont think youl see many gains until you started changing engine parts, once you have done the exhaust and induction then the only way of seeing noticeable power increase is by doing cams and or upgraded inlet manifold along s with a map to suit. very expensive shizney! obv age is a big factor that can effect your figures so its also worth giving her a good service and ironing out any creases

if its your run around keep an eye out on the for sale section on here and you can sometimes get a bargain that or maybe fleabay?
-
i thinks its somdthing in the exhaust that restricts noise below 45 mph, you mod it by permenantly leaving it open but alot of people have just complained that it sounds awfull and changed it back!

as above really, now looking to buy another vr, does anybody know if insurers tend to give better prices on turbo or charged? also which is more reliable? will only be looking for about 250 bhp so is a charger on lower pressures more favourable? lastly has any1 at 22 with 4 years no claims tried insuring 1? cheers all!

Ok so i had a sad day yesterday, decided to give the car a quick clean and a huuuge bit of paint came off the arch and underneath, waaaaay! a huge rust patch, i then went to start her up and give her a run on the A11 when i found a huge puddle in the driver footwell. after all this i gave it a mop up wandering what the hell has caused it, checked my coolant level and thats fine so god knows. everything else was bone dry apart from the carpet :S anyway i have now decided to take her off the road and get her how i want her in my owntime without racking up the miles. Therefore i should (if all go
