  1. If your staying na the big three for me is air filter, cams and exhaust, then just a remap to suit, that should keep you going for a while then if you dont mind no comfort then you can start stripping excess weight
  2. Yeah i guess thats whats happened, they sit far too high and just dont look right. Where are you going for your skim then? I ran a straightedge down my head earlier and its flat as a pancake, apart from the ill sitting valves of course haha. Hmm iv never heard of skimming the cam cover before, interesting though, but a skim is only what a thousandth of an inch? Not sure if it would effect it that much, surely the gasket would take the extra bit? If that makes sense!
  3. Id be up for a road trip, i sometimes going hiking in scotland, theres some pretty ace roads up there, be nice to go in something thats not a van haha
  4. Havent checked it but the head wasnt warped when i took it in, did a decent job of it as well, il have a look later with a straight edge
  5. Ok cheers mate, il have a bell with them, if your after having your head skimmed, specialist tooling services did mine for £20 or £30 iirc, and literally cant be more then half a mile from you! on doddington road where intel is?
  6. well it wasnt actually a machine shop that put my guides in, it was my local garage that had a press. any ideas on who could do it for me?
  7. Hi guys, Im currently rebuilding my head, just had new guides and seals pressed in, and now im going about lapping the new valves in. My question is, should the new valves sit this high up in the seats? or would it have to be regrinded? also, two valves in particular, an inlet and an exhaust, are really hard to push in, and need real force to pull out, any ideas on what i can do for this? Cheers guys

  12. Well here it is! Cant wait to get started, taking the block to stealth when I get a chance, they can put the rings back in e.t.c. then hopefully should be a matter of bolting it back together with turbo and i can start pipework 3 litre Wossner low comp pistons with ARP bolts, and new valves, hopefully these ones wont bend like the last lot! I'll upload when I get some more news.....

  16. Congrats on the interview mate, hope it all goes well. My 2 cents, be prepared, research about the company, their history and their goals. also what you will be doing in the job, roles e.t.c. know the job you will be doing intimately. but mainly just remember that they too are people, so RELAX! try to be yourself (But not too much ) Even if you already have given them your CV, take one anyway for you to refer to, and your relevant qualifications. try to always be polite, try no to ermm and ahh.. dont want to teach you to suck eggs but this is something im really bad at! other then that all
