  1. listen to the belt tensioner bearing, could be that?
  2. Ha gotta love slabbing for some red back and crack! We're using earth wool, which in fairness isn't too bad to itchyness. It's just the roof is only half pitch and really shallow so you literally have to crawl with the sponge lava.
  3. odd, I'd start by just taking the cowling off round the steering wheel. Look for any burnt wires, discoloured wires e.t.c and try again with the ignition on, see if anything smokes again.
  4. Stuck in could possibly be the worlds hottest loft, laying insulation. Not how i intended spending bank holiday!
  5. I'm in a similar position myself, and will hopefully soon be getting a new ecu. To be honest after much deliberating I've decided to go for a dta s60 after speaking to vince at stealth, and reading reviews online, it seems to be the most straightforward to me. just a bit pricey though
  6. I had a mk2f polo once that was stupidly low, if I had anything that weighed more then a box of matches in the rear the tyres scrubbed on bumps. Me and kev had a laugh trying to get his old 3 litre block in there!
  7. It's not a VR I know, but i remember when i had my clutch done on my citroen, it juddered a bit, and for the first 100 miles or so the clutch was almost like a paddle clutch, either on or off. So hopefully yours will burn in fine
  8. i think its the R32 crank that lowers the compression, or the other way round
  9. Having a few mates over tonight, get the chimnea out with a few beers and an indian most likely. sunday going to a water park in birmingham so I need to dig out the budgie smugglers!
  10. Very helpful, how-to videos are so insightful!
  11. Cant say I've had that sort of experience, but they are a great company, matt was really helpful when i rang him up about some remapping a while ago.
  12. This is just a little thing, and probably just me, but is there a way to turn off that yellow box that comes up saying thankyou for your support? just a bit annoying having to keep either scrolling past it or closing the box
  13. Great writeup, I think (for me anyway) air ride is still a bit cautious and best left to the experts, but reading shows there's not that much to it. Would love to have a crack sometime at it.
  14. Lol at the hamsteries! I've also considered cleaning my duff one out and making it into an elaborate spice rack. Only thing is the jars are too big for the valve openings, I'll have to get a BV head..
  15. A small couple make a big adventure just for one small magical fashion object..
  16. Nice shorts lookin good dude!
  17. Could be possible Michael, although to be honest theres more chance of me going to stealth then manchester! I'll have to see yet, Cheers though
  18. Depending what you have I can soon take some of it off your hands
  19. I don't think i am gonna make it now although if i check dates, i have to go down to stealth ro get my engine rebuilt, so if their not too busy i might see if i can pop down then
  20. You could build it back up and replace your head if your current ones getting on a bit, while youve got one spare its ideal Or, rather conveniently, mines knackered so i could do with one if you want rid
  21. What paint did you use for your block?
  22. Poo sorry mate i completely forgot. Ive got one just of the rear subframe, and diff e.t.c its not the best pic but you get the gist. Im just a bit concerned that because its from a passat it might be a bit wider, i'll measure it and see if i can get the measurements for other subframes.
